What is stealing your time away?

I know I’ve spoken before about how time is your most valuable asset. And even though I’ve made some compelling points about that previously, here’s a new way to think about it.Many people think their most valuable asset is money. But that’s wrong. You can always use your time to make more money, but having more money can never purchase you more time. This makes time inherently more valuable than money, and therefore the most valuable asset you have.So why let people steal your time? You…See More

30 Second Tip – Have a Cleaning Supplies Bag

Many people will leave cleaning supplies under the kitchen and bathroom counters. But often this results in multiple bottles (glass cleaner in each area, multiple toilet cleaning bottles, bleach wipes in each area, etc), extra sponges, and increased clutter. Not to mention the cleaning supplies tend to be down in a lower area where younger hands could inadvertently get into them!My solution –...(Continue reading…See More

Profile Information

How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
I first heard about this through Dan's free podcast, which I learned about through Dave Ramsey. I'm hoping to gain access to a group of individuals who will guide me in launching my first entrepreneurial start-up and create a successful home based business.
What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
I'm currently employed as an optometrist in a private practice setting. I'm working on my first blog and just learning how to monetize it.
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
I do enjoy my career as an optometrist, but I feel as if a part of me is missing. I've had to become so scientific and factual with this line of work that I feel my creative side has been all but snuffed out. When I was younger I loved reading, writing, and photography. I loved spending hours outside and taking in the beauty of the world around me and enjoying the quiet and solitude of nature. Now I spend my days in a dark little room with no windows. I don't want to leave my career, but I would like to create more balance in my life allowing time to soak up the sunlight and nurture the creative side of me.
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
My husband and I are currently working on Dave Ramsey's debt snowball and I can't even imagine how wonderful it will feel when we complete that (about 2 years out right now)! We are also hoping to start a family soon which will be a whole new journey.
What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
I'm great at organization and detail management. I come from a family of hoarders and am proud to say that I've been able to break that cycle in my personal life. I've recently started a blog with some of my best tips and inspiration to help others get more organized as well.

Out with the Old to Welcome the New

Posted on July 20, 2016 at 10:18am 2 Comments

In the post from two weeks ago, I talked about how I had to let go of some things in my life and change other things around in order to accomplish what I needed to now that I am a mother with a small infant. And as much as I’d like to get everything completed, it’s just not possible. New responsibilities and desires will always come up in life, no matter what season you are in, and with that, less available time for each task. So in order to live life fully and completely without…

30 Second Tip – Organizing Your Closet Hangers

Posted on July 10, 2016 at 8:24am 4 Comments

If you are like my husband, every time you finish laundry, you end up digging through all the clothes in your closet, trying to find the empty hangers to put your clean clothes back on. This results in either 1) frustration from it taking too long to find them, or 2) not finding enough and running out of hangers before you run out of clothes.

My solution is simple – (Finish reading…
