How to Make $77,000 Extra Doing What You Love

In 2015, John Lee Dumas made $2.1 million doing this. At age 72, Len Smith makes $120,000 per year. Rob Percival—a former high school teacher—made over $1 million in nine months. Though their backgrounds have little in common, their profitable activity is the same. All of these people (and too many more to mention) made a lot of money by creating and selling online courses.A great course can sell for $1000 or more, however, most…See More

How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
I have been a 48 Days fan for years and have attended many of Dan's events. I hope to be an active participant in the dreams of others while I seek to fulfill my own purpose in life.
What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
I am a certified instructional designer and oversee instructional technology at a medical college. I love helping people bring their ideas to life by making them teachable and actionable. I do a lot of freelance instructional design in the form of creating study guides, workbooks, and other teaching resources.
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
I want to inspire people to be their best, to never settle for mediocrity, and to make a difference in whatever they do. A parallel interest is coffee roasting, which is a hobby at the moment.
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
I want to create a life that I never want to retire from.
What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
I am a writer, teacher, encourager, and thinker.

E-lecturing Is Not E-Learning

Posted on July 28, 2016 at 7:57am 1 Comment

I'm often asked to review online learning courses and provide feedback to content owners. My feedback almost always includes this sentence:

Your video is a lecture … and it is too long!

According to researchers, adult learners hate lectures. Lectures also are educationally ineffective. Yet, classroom and online "teachers" continue to use them while expressing…

Learning Is Connected to Everything You Do

Posted on July 27, 2016 at 7:25am 2 Comments

We all are products of our educational experiences. Those experiences influence the way we teach other people. It's safe to say that our view of learning is limited by our personal learning experiences. Whether you are a blogger, author, speaker, entrepreneur, homemaker, craftsman, business leader, employee, or anyone I left out, you have numerous opportunities to teach and…

Don't Let Phantom Failure Derail You

Posted on July 21, 2016 at 7:30am 0 Comments

As a coach, I've worked with some awesome clients. They are talented, motivated, and eager to learn. They understand that the benefits of success can't be realized unless they accept the possibility of failure. In many situations, they've tasted failure to some degree. But they don't let that hold them back. Like my clients, we would be naive to ignore the possibility of…

Hello Terry,

Welcome to the 48Days community. We are glad you are here. My name is John Henderson. I like to take some time each week and welcome new visitors.

You will find this place to be a wealth of advice and information. You can read blogs by other members, start your own, jump into a discussion in the forums, join one of the great groups for a more focused conversation and much more.

I am the group leader of Lifewise Transitions. We help people realize their dreams by giving them focused advice on their specific obstacle. Does technology, motivation, focus, your past or any other hurdle stand in your way? We can help.

You can join the conversation here Lifewise Transitions.

Again we are glad you're here. If you want to become the best version of yourself you're in the right place!

Welcome Terry,

I try to take time each week to welcome new members to 48Days.Net. So, let me say "welcome" to you! I know you will find this to be a great site filled with people who are experiencing true success in both life and work.

I'd like to point out that one of the best places to connect with other liked-minded people here is in the GROUPS section. There are groups for just about every interest you can think of, and if you can't find a group that interests you, you can start one. Groups are my favorite part of 48Days.Net!

Finally, it sounds like you are interested in writing. If so, consider joining the Write It Forward. There are some great discussions going on that will likely be very profitable for you.

Plus, you might want to check out Speak It Forward as well. It's another group I'm involved with that has a lot of activity taking place.

Again, enjoy 48Days.Net. It's a great place to be!

Live it forward,
Kent Julian
