Creating Something Every Day

Dave Weiss here from the Creative Ministry Group and AMOKArts.com One of the things I have run into working with creative folks is that we all can experience creative block and I try to teach ways to get past it. What Is Your Vision for This Church?

This is excerpted from my creative ministry blog at AMOKArts.com It was the question that stopped me in my tracks. Not because I didn’t know the answer, but because I sort of thought the person asking would think I was making it up as I go. It happened at my interview. I had started as the interim pastor. My intention was to come in, stay a few months and help the church keep going while they found their permanent pastor. Then I would put them in that pastor’s capable hands and back out on the…See More

Confession time. After years of bivocational ministry, I recently became a "full-time" pastor. Create a Better Life: Day 22: What to Do With Critics

I am working up a new project. Taking a page from the Dan Miller Playbook, I'm giving myself 48 days to create a new workshop/product/webinar called Create a Better Life. Each Day I share what I did on that day. Some days detail the behind the scenes work, others deal with the actual content I am creating. My goal in sharing the whole thing is to show people that something complete can come together in a short period of time, while doing other things. You can see the rest of the posts at  …

On Originality...

Posted on February 20, 2015 at 8:08am 1 Comment

“Salvador Dali once said, “Those who do not want to imitate anything, produce nothing.” King Solomon once said “There is nothing new under the sun.” We are all so caught up in originality and we should strive to do original work, but there is nothing wrong with learning from what has gone before.
