Unless the Lord Builds a House... Or a Ministry

Psalm 127:1 says 'Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain." This isn't just true about houses, it's also very true of ministries. The Lord is the source of our strength and must be at the forefront of everything we do. This means that our ministries must be bathed in prayer. I will be the first one to confess that in seasons of busyness, I can be quick to work and slow to pray and the truth is I can still come up with some good stuff. Here's why that's a problem.First, it…See More

He enters Jerusalem, riding on the colt of a donkey. This may seem cruel, big man on a little horse, but please don't miss the…See More

The Story Arc

Every story has an arc, a line the story follows from beginning to end. Continuing stories can have multiple arcs and sometimes a plot twist will change the arc of the story but if you go back over a story, you can see the arc or arcs that have taken place to bring us to the conclusion the author has chosen.

The thing is your life is a story and it has an arc. You can see it looking back. There are probably a many…

Okay the title of this one may be slightly overstated, but not by much. This post was triggered this morning in an online chat with a friend who is pursuing writing. While I am always willing to help, I am more of a writer than a writing teacher. In truth, I am self-taught for writing and she seems to be going deeper than I may be able to go on my own. So I started have I connected you with this person and that person and the other person. Some I had and some I hadn't yet. Then she gave me a…
