Any Journey Worth Doing, Takes Effort

Posted on January 26, 2015 at 4:43pm 3 Comments

How many times in life do we get frustrated when we are learning new things? We want to make changes in our career or personal lives, but we think, "Ah, the effort seems too much."

What can we do when we feel like the effort is too overwhelming, yet we want to try something new?

Whenever we get frustrated from learning new things, I encourage you to keep three things in mind:

1. Keep in mind that anything worth doing in life takes effort. If it was easy,…

The holidays are here. For many of us that means….the crazy in-laws are coming.

You know what we mean by crazy…

Crazy In Laws Holidays (9)-2

  • There is the one crazy in-law that drives you crazy. He’s always finding ways to criticize what you do. When he have had a few drinks and sometimes even without a few drinks, he becomes obnoxious and crude.
  • Then there is the other crazy in-law whose conversations tend to veer towards religion and politics and when it…

$110 Million and Losing It All

Posted on December 9, 2014 at 6:00am 3 Comments

The recent story on NBA player Antoine Walker losing $110 million is a perfect example. We think how on earth could he possibly do this? I know our family would have this several years ago as we just knew would not be "that" type of person to blow such a pot of gold away. In fact, we had plans for how we would SPEND our money if a windfall would ever come our way (notice the emphasis on SPEND with NO mention of SAVINGS). Yep, if only that would happen we dreamed.

Thank you for the kind welcome and encouragement Jen! And congratulations on all your success! As for the baby and weight loss, I am truly blessed beyond measure and have a lot to be thankful for in life. I have joined both the Speak it Forward and Write it Forward Groups, and have interacted with Kent and received the dates for his next Speak It Forward Boot Camp in November. It seems like the premier training program of maximizing one's abilities in professional speaking!

With that being said, I am currently on Day 10 of the 48 Days process with Dan and have already learned so much about my personality, skills and abilities, and how to discover my passion. Even though I have yet to pinpoint exactly what that is at this stage in the game, I am convinced that this process will empower me to discover God's will for my life along with characteristics of myself I never knew existed, which really excites me! The best times in my life are still yet to come, and I can't wait to enjoy them!
