We are so glad you're here and ready to take the next step! We created 48days.net as a place for community. For people to encourage each other and help each other in finding or creating work that is meaningful.

But frankly, we've outgrown it, so we're moving to provide you new resources.

If you have heard of Chris Langan, it was probably within the context of “the smartest man in America.” Quite possibly that is true. There is even a theory that he is the smartest man in the world. He has a verified I.Q. of 195 and says that he has scored over 200. To put that in perspective, Einstein was estimated to have an I.Q. between 150 and 170. Chris has reputed that he scored perfectly on the SAT and took a nap during the test.

LOL John! I actually starting chuckling when I read the BOLD lettering of why. This was a great article and speaks the truth in so many ways.

Thanks for sharing my friend!

Luckily for me too John - although I don't know - you seem pretty smart to me!

John,

Thanks for the great comment! You are right buddy, there is a real disconnect between what we value in school and what IS valuable in the real world!

PS Love Andy Stanley!

Take care.

Ann,

Thanks for the complement. Luckily for me you're right, IQ is not the most important thing!

There obviously are more important things than IQ and intelligence - thankfully! As always - awesome post.

John, I love this post right here.  Thank you for sharing this with the world.  All my years in high school and college I thought it was just getting good grades that mattered.  Now that I have been in the "real world" for 8 years, I realize how grades really do not effect my success in life.  There are so many more important things that control the outcomes we desire.  It's like Andy Stanely says, "Direction, not intention determines your destination."  Thanks!

While GPA and IQ are certainly not linked, Dave Ramsey regularly comments on his incredibly popular syndicated radio show that his GPA at Tennessee was 2.97. It wasn't his IQ or academic ability that made him great, it was his ability to connect with people. If you find ways to help people the effort will be returned to you in multiple ways.
