Your place for community & resources to find or create work you love
We are so glad you're here and ready to take the next step! We created 48days.net as a place for community. For people to encourage each other and help each other in finding or creating work that is meaningful.
But frankly, we've outgrown it, so we're moving to provide you new resources.
48Days.net will be closing as it is today on November 30, 2017. Until then current members can click the button below to access groups and resources.
If you're new to 48days.net, connect here for a close up look at our thriving 48 Days Eagles Community and to get weekly free resources and motivation as you find and create work you love.
I've been a member of this community since 2009 and have really enjoyed my time here. It was a place to be challenged, to offer and accept inputs and opinions, and even rib a fellow Eagle in training. The thing I liked most about it was the diversity. There were people here from all walks of life, different ends of the economic spectrum. There were college professors and high school drop outs. There were doctors, lawyers, ditch diggers, and brick layers. Everyone was equal here, ready to share ideas and offer encouragement to those who were seeking more out of their professional life.
I also appreciated the fact that you offered insights to all, but were not one to suffer fools gladly. If someone wasn't ready to stop talking and start moving, you were fully prepared to wish them the best and move on without them.
"48 Days" isn't about resumes and cover letters. It's about the human interactions that take place in the work environment. Hiring and leading people is tough! The fastest way to chaos and ruin for a small business owner is to hire the wrong people. The easiest way to get burned out and frustrated is to accept the wrong job, in the wrong company, for the wrong reasons. Your program helps people on both sides of this ta
ble understand what they want and what's at stake.
I've been proud to lead the Veterans' Group on 48 Days. Veterans are particularly vulnerable to picking the wrong job because they are often rushed to accept positions before they know what they really want. I made an effort to encourage every member of the group to work through the process to optimize their chances for long term
So, here we are. I am saddened that 48Days.net is closing, and while I appreciate the idea behind "The 48 Days Eagles Group" I won't be coming along for that part of the adventure. I'll continue to listen in on the podcasts, I mean, "On Demand Radio" programs, and tell all my job seeking friends to pick up a copy of "48 Days to the Work You Love" because I believe in the program. I will continue to make investments of my time and money in personal development and growth, but would like to do so in a way that offers more flexibility.
Thanks again, and good luck with "The Eagles",
