Your place for community & resources to find or create work you love

We are so glad you're here and ready to take the next step! We created 48days.net as a place for community. For people to encourage each other and help each other in finding or creating work that is meaningful.

But frankly, we've outgrown it, so we're moving to provide you new resources.

48Days.net will be closing as it is today on November 30, 2017. Until then current members can click the button below to access groups and resources.

If you're new to 48days.net, connect here for a close up look at our thriving 48 Days Eagles Community and to get weekly free resources and motivation as you find and create work you love.

Playing Bored Games at Your Job?

Oh no, Not the Pokemon-Go type games or anything like those. These are games we play when we stay at a job far too long for all the wrong reasons.

One of the things I hear consistently from many clients is how long they have been unhappy at their jobs. Many have stayed working in an area where they no longer experience joy, a sense of purpose or any contentment. They play Bored GamesFrustration Games,Blame Games and even Helpless Games; none of which they will ever win.

Why do people stay at a job when it no longer resonates with them? I think there are many reasons but here are the FOUR that continue be ones I often hear and these four tend to be the ones that cause clients to play the games at their jobs that keep them stuck and miserable.

  1. NEED…Many people tell me they have no savings put aside or any resources to consider any alternatives. They can’t imagine buidling a new career while still working at the one that pays the bills and so they stay rooted in misery feeling there is no other choice.
  2. CONFUSION…Clients often feel pidgeon-holed into a career and can’t even fathom what else they can do for a living. Many are so stressed about how much they dislike their job they come into coaching feeling cornered  and stuck.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting, John. Sorry if I left you down with the play on words! Every entrepreneur who ever launched has experienced one of those 4 reasons, so you are in good company.

Kathy, I love your play on words with this blog here.  At first, you had me excited to learn about playing board games at work.  :-)  Confusion and fear are definitely the biggest ones I have experienced.  Thanks for the insights!
