I Can Do It By Myself!

Anyone who has ever parented or worked with a young child knows how adamant he/she can become when they don't want help to achieve a task. Whether it's trying to reach a water fountain or learning to tie shoes, that line, "I can do it by myself." can send even the calmest adult into a tizzy.

Believing Lies Can Kill a Relationship

“If what we believe doesn’t reflect the truth, then what we feel doesn’t reflect reality.” ~ Neil Anderson

Many years ago a woman, I’ll call Joanna, came to me because of her struggle with anger. Her husband got the brunt of her rants. As we dug deeper, I learned her father and grandfather had abused her and passively let others take advantage of her. Her primary male role models, men who should have protected her, taught her men were not to be…

Group Leader
Stop Blogging; Start Teaching

Creative, high-tech eLearning instructional designers are the new content marketers. | An HR recruiter

I've been a ghost writer of countless blogs for organizational management companies, fund raising companies, and money management firms. The formula is fairly consistent—present a problem, offer a solution, and end with a call to action. Typically, the blog posts are more about persuading the reader to utilize the company's…

What Would it Take to Get You to Give a Speech?

“Oh, no, you won’t get me up in front of a group of people giving a speech.”

I’ve heard that hundreds of times. HOWEVER, once business owners see what speaking to groups can do for their business, they start changing their tune, or at least the smart ones do…

If you want to increase revenues and you can create at least one effective signature talk, speaking gives you an enormous tool to fuel business growth.

Are you interested? It costs you nothing to learn…

Cadence Is an Art Form to Live and Work Beautifully

Cadence is phrasing, rhythm, and flow.

Think about music ... melody and rhythm are composed to end and begin phrases, sections, and even movements.

Writing ... words and phrases flow in an almost musical cadence.

Speaking ... the modulation of the voice, slightly falling…

Enjoy the Productivity of Rest

Hi 48 Days Friends. I've been in Alaska, so am late posting this. I hope you are doing well! DW

I rested my head on my pillow, but my mind kept working. I’d pushed all day, yet I hadn’t accomplished what I wanted. Would sleep be one more thing that wouldn’t get done?
