Thanks - joined Baby Steps to Business...just what i need i think! I'm still a bit overwhelmed by all of the info available to 48Days.Net members. Wow... i mean, the first question that i have is: Where have you people been all of my life?? :) Thanks for the warm welcome!
The sax dojo is concept for teaching students the saxophone in a group setting. The format would be similiar to going to a karate class with students learning various movements like kata's in karate. As a student moves up in learning scales, patterns, licks, articulations, and ear training, he or she would recieve a different color belt. After progressing over time the student move ultimately to a Black Belt on the saxophone.
Thank you for the message. Yes, I am still moving towards my goal and it depends on the day of the week how I feel about where I am! Some days I feel fairly close and sometimes I feel as far as away as ever. I am still kicking, though. The one really encouraging thing is I do feel I am trying in my area of true passion. Another thing is what I have always heard Dan Miller say, 90% is marketing. I am really putting extra effort into getting the word out on my website and publication. But, I will admit...it is hard!
My birth name is Devin Davis. But I changed my last name to represent the brand image I want to create. So that's where the Devin Dove comes from. Sort of like B.B. King, Alicia Keys, and Steve Wonder. I have so many ideas and I don't know where to start. Most of my frustrations come from the fact that I need to get a computer. And getting on the site regularly is frustrating at times. Nevertheless, I must go forward. I do have an idea but don't know anything about patents. And sometimes in my heart I feel that I don't want anyone to steal my idea. I know crazy, right! But here we go. I want to have a SAX DOJO!!!
Thanks for the invite. Things are going ok. I have negotiated an extremely flexible schedule at my present job, but haven't really taken advantage of the time to pursue other streams of income, though I have been thinking and reading more then I have in the past
We don't do financial planning. We counsel individuals and small businesses who are in various stages of financial crisis. You would think we would be inundated, but most people don't want to face their issues. They mistakenly think the government will take care of whatever ails them.
Life has taken a different direction than I thought it would a few months ago, which means for now, my picture of self-employment in my current field is completely on hold, though I'm working with another coach / friend on what the future might look like. I had some family stuff come up that prohibited self-employment (one of those few situations where I really was specifically prohibited from it for a period of time) but it allowed me more time to think and ponder other possibilities, so for now I see it as God's grace that I didn't make the leap when I originally intended.
I'll post more at some point when there's more to add.
Hi Joe, It's going great! I started the Real Estate business back and my wife and daughter are joining me this month. It's going to be a family affair. I still have the full time job and I can't wait to make it apart of what I do in real estate as a consultant. I have a lot to learn and must remember to take me time. Thanks!
