This week we salute our nation’s workers. Labor Day is an annual reminder of the contributions American workers have made to the well-being of our country. The Bible agrees that work benefits society and notes some other benefits as well.
Contrary to popular thought, work is not a result of the curse, though the curse has certainly added thorns to our labor. Adam and Eve worked before the fall. Besides monetarily benefiting the laborer and serving the community, hard work satisfies the worker. Solomon wrote, “I even found great pleasure in hard work, a reward for all my labors,” (Ecclesiastes 2:10, NLT). [click to continue…]

Comment by Ann Musico on September 5, 2012 at 7:16am One of my bosses used to say he'd be afraid to eat at my house because of the health emphasis - but making healthy food tasty and choosing the best ingredients really isn't as difficult as people think.

Comment by Ann Musico on September 5, 2012 at 6:58am Great Post, Deborah - I know for myself, I love doing something productive - whether it is working with a client, writing, cooking or doing work around my home - I believe we are created to be productive and there's nothing quite as satisfying as sitting back and knowing you did a good job.
