A few days ago I watched a 2009 movie titled “Up in the Air”.  The movie itself was ok, probably not one I would watch more than once, but there was a specific section that really stood out to me and it had a clear message that I feel we should all listen to.

The movie casts George Clooney as Ryan, a person whose job is to travel around the country firing people from their jobs.  Understandably he gets a variety of reactions to his message and in one scene he’s trying to get a gentleman to see the bright side of his new unemployment.  The man wants to know what to tell his kids,...

I wonder what would be the tipping point to make someone think that a certain amount of money is worth walking away from your dream?  $27,000 wouldn't do it for me, but what about $100,000 or $200,000.  And then again, even if the money was great, how long could you still continue to do something you don't love before feeling unfulfilled?

Oh I've used that clip in my podcast. What a powerful question. "How much did pay you to walk away from your dream?" So many people could ask themselves that question. For many people the economic downturn of the last couple of years was simply a wake-up call to revive those buried dreams.
