New beginnings are always exciting. Ending something can be exhilarating, rewarding - disappointing, depressing or sad.
But if you look at your life today, you are in the middle of many things. And it is in the middle where winners are separated from losers. It is in the middle where we can determine the end.
Poet Linda Ellis wrote about the "dash" between the years of your birth and death. You certainly are somewhere in the middle of that continuum if you are reading this today. I'm somewhere in the middle of "1972 ~"
Last night we watched Michael Phelps close his 19th Olympic Medal - a record that may not be beat for many years or a lifetime. But Phelps closed his interview by saying he still has three races ... and then there will be future events in his life to live. And there may be family, continued fame, opportunities to teach others.
