Your place for community & resources to find or create work you love

We are so glad you're here and ready to take the next step! We created 48days.net as a place for community. For people to encourage each other and help each other in finding or creating work that is meaningful.

But frankly, we've outgrown it, so we're moving to provide you new resources.

48Days.net will be closing as it is today on November 30, 2017. Until then current members can click the button below to access groups and resources.

If you're new to 48days.net, connect here for a close up look at our thriving 48 Days Eagles Community and to get weekly free resources and motivation as you find and create work you love.

This blog by Andy Budd hits the nail right on the head! For me - personally I LOVE web design. I love the technology, I love the art, I love the "detective work" that's often involved in getting your code to do exactly what you want, and the the graphics are just the icing on the cake!

Website design, as Andy mentions, doesn't have the history, or legacy that other disciplines such as architecture, or graphic design do. But there is no doubt that having competent qualified "web professionals" is needed. Businesses need to hire these people to work on their staff. Web Development firms need to be born and grow to meet the growing need for businesses trying to get on to the web.

"Much like architecture or product design, It’s a multi-disciplinary subject that needs to be taught [b]y multi-disciplinary teams; interaction designer, front end developers and usability specialists."

Wow. What I wouldn't do to study in such a program.

You know, those are the ones that I listen to also, and I honestly don't know of any others. There are a handful that I've tried but they've all been deleted. I do my development on Drupal, and so I listen to the Lullabots A LOT. If you're not a drupal guy, then it won't mean a lot, but if you do, then they're awesome.

Great blog post you put here from Andy Budd. I read it and agree. I would love to have the knowledge/education to really develop/design sites like he and yourself discussed. I am using Wordpress and am pretty much happy with it, but would like to do more. I am considering playing with Joomla as it looks like it has a lot to offer once you get the hang of it.

Funny, the name looked familiar as I love to listen to Paul Boag and Marcus Lillington from Boagworld off of iTunes. Great information to listen to, do you have any other podcasts you would recommend for site development and/or design?
