Your place for community & resources to find or create work you love

We are so glad you're here and ready to take the next step! We created 48days.net as a place for community. For people to encourage each other and help each other in finding or creating work that is meaningful.

But frankly, we've outgrown it, so we're moving to provide you new resources.

48Days.net will be closing as it is today on November 30, 2017. Until then current members can click the button below to access groups and resources.

If you're new to 48days.net, connect here for a close up look at our thriving 48 Days Eagles Community and to get weekly free resources and motivation as you find and create work you love.

All of the great leaders have had one characteristic in common: it was the willingness to confront unequivocally the major anxiety of their people in their time. This, and not much else, is the essence of leadership.

John Kenneth Galbraith

Most people in leadership are average. They are leading by being better managers. They are following the set of rules and regulations in some play book, instead of doing everything they have the potential of doing.

Now, just so we don’t start off on the wrong foot, we do have some great leaders today. They are simply in the minority by a long shot. We need better leadership! Across the board. This country, and even the world, has been in a state of worry and confusion for years now. The people (we’re people, you and I, remember?) need to know that their future will be better. Who will give it to them?

My hope and bet is this. I think it could be you. You see, people need a better future to look to. They need a better reality, a hope, a vision of greatness. People need someone to show them the way. They are sick and tired of political correctness, of following esoteric rules and regulations. They are thirsty, as men and women being stranded in the desert, needing someone to STAND UP to do and say what is right. We need better leadership.

We need better leaders in our homes. We need men to take a stand and engage. To stop leaving their families. We need better fathers, who love their wives and children, get out, go kill something and drag it home to provide for their family. We need men who are not boys that shave.

We need better ministers. We need someone to speak and teach truth from their pulpit. To call sin what it is, sin. To call people to be accountable, and to live better lives. We need ministers to keep your pants on when it’s not your wife. We need preachers to stop cheating on their spouses, their taxes, their churches, and their GOD.

We need better business leaders and entrepreneurs. We need people with heart and integrity. We need people with dreams and visions of a great and beautiful future. We need leadership to not just talk about ideas, but show us the way. We need leadership in business to speak truth, not lies. We need business leaders to be involved in their communities, because they want to be. We need business leadership to be the innovators, the dream makers, the builders of the next great awakening of our times.

We need better government. We need people with a stake in the game, who will be held accountable. We need leadership to speak the truth. We need leadership to make difficult decisions, to do what is right. We need government to stop trying to program a life for the rest of us. We need leadership in government to get out of the way of progress and hope. We need better leadership.

Who’s with me? The time is now, today, immediately. Not tomorrow. We can’t stand here and wait for someone to do it for us. We need you to quit making excuses, and step up. Take a stand, get rid of what doesn’t work, innovate, learn, and just do it. Who’s with me? If you need a place to start, let’s talk. That’s what I do. I would love to help you.

Because, the world is waiting for you.

"The task of leadership is not to put greatness into humanity, but to elicit it, for the greatness is already there."

Thanks Deb! As I’ve said before, leadership is the problem, and leadership is the solution.

Great post Rick.

Too often we don't think of ourselves as leader's but surely we all 'influence' or lead someone in one way or another. Character, integrity, being a big picture thinker are just a few of the ingredients.  You've captured here each of the areas where Leadership is sorely needed!
