One reason or another, a lot of us lost sight of who we truly are as we “mature” or “become more responsible”. Elida Evans, in a groundbreaking study on cancer personality in 1926, wrote “the development of individuality is a safeguard to life and health“. (Jump to the podcast.)
In today’s episode, I suggested a simple question to reflect upon:
What is the favorite part of my day? (Joel asked me this question one evening during dinner… really got me thinking!)
Be curious about what excite and drive you; learn what give you joy. Proverb says: A cheerful heart is good medicine. Medical research has found hormones from our heart have cancer killing capabilities. So our hearts are not just for pumping blood that transport oxygen. Reflect on your day, find your joy.

Comment by Ann Musico on August 29, 2012 at 12:39pm Awesome and powerful information! God certainly did know how important a cheerful heart is for health. There are several scriptures that talk about this - two I focused in on when starting my journey to healthy teeth and gums were Pr. 16:24 gracious words heal my bones and Proverbs 17:22 my cheerful heart and spirit moisten my bones! Yes - being aware of our attitudes and beliefs and focusing on them from our hearts releases healing hormones - that can not only keep us healthy but bring healing! Very important subject, Pei.
