Without people pushing against your quest to do something worth
talking about, it's unlikely to be worth the journey. Persist. | Seth Godin
Somewhere deep inside you is an unflinching belief that you can make a difference. It isn't something you think you can do; you know it. It's a God-given confidence that causes your heart to beat faster and your words to run together in rapid succession. This is an internal drive that grows stronger everyday. Things don't have to be the way they are. Doing what we've always done will produce results we've already experienced. Let's do something radial, different, creative. You were born for a moment like this!
Then the alarm wakes you from your sleep. How did things turn out? Were you able to make a difference or not? The unfinished dream haunts you throughout the day. Can you really make a difference or is the corporate game of whack-a-mole (in which you are the mole) your lot in life? Life can throw buckets of ice water on our imaginations. We view resistance as a closed door. We go to sleep every night hoping to finish the dream because we believe that's as close to realizing it as we will ever get.
The difference between the game-changers and the game-watchers is persistence. Game-changers are bothered by the status quo, look for ways to improve life. They analyze, scrutinize, and strategize. They ask questions—hard questions—not to get answers, but to make people think. And people push back. Expect it to happen. Learn from it. Keep moving forward.
The world doesn't need more game-watchers; it needs game-changers. It needs you to act on that unflinching belief that you can make a difference. Why? Because only you can make your dream a reality. Change isn't a mistake. Changing too late is. Think about it!
Which of your unflinching beliefs has the greatest potential to rock the world? What obstacles do you need to overcome before your dream becomes reality?
