The world, however, isn't perfect. Dreamers often grow frustrated because their dreams aren't becoming reality. Is there something that keeps dreamers from accomplishing their dreams?
Po - Pr = Ac
Our potential (Po) is often expressed by our personal mission statements. Michael Hyatt's recent post entitled The 140-Character Mission Statement is worth reading. In the post, we are introduced to the idea of expressing our personal mission in a short, compact statement. If we can't simply state our purpose, it will be hard to pursue that purpose.
Potential is negatively affected by a lot of things. The most dangerous threat to our potential is procrastination (Pr). Procrastination comes in a variety of forms—distractions, self-gratification, over-commitment, etc. Procrastination is simply anything we do that takes our eyes off of our real purpose in life. When we subtract procrastination (Pr) from our potential, we get a more accurate view of our potential accomplishments (Ac). This explains why so many great ideas never gain any traction. When the dreamer procrastinates enough, the accomplishments will never materialize. Think about it!
What is distracting you from your real purpose in life? How can you move forward in your pursuit of your dream?
