Your place for community & resources to find or create work you love

We are so glad you're here and ready to take the next step! We created 48days.net as a place for community. For people to encourage each other and help each other in finding or creating work that is meaningful.

But frankly, we've outgrown it, so we're moving to provide you new resources.

48Days.net will be closing as it is today on November 30, 2017. Until then current members can click the button below to access groups and resources.

If you're new to 48days.net, connect here for a close up look at our thriving 48 Days Eagles Community and to get weekly free resources and motivation as you find and create work you love.

Part 2 of the Chicken Poop Chronicles | Bad Work Experiences

Previous work experience that was less than fulfilling (those Chicken Poop I’ll – never -do- that -again experiences) believe it or not serve a purpose in guiding us toward a career we love and feel successful in. It’s all about how we view and use the information about those experiences that will move us closer or further away from a fulfilling life. Our mindset about what we’ve experienced affects the choices we make going forward big time.

In last week’s post, What is Success | Part 1 of the Chicken Poop Chronicles, I wrote about the different ways we can choose to define a successful life.

Career is a huge part of life; it’s a major way many of us define our life success. Not only do we spend 8 to 10 of our precious 24 hours a day at it (499,200 hours over 30 years of working 8 hour days), but how well our job, career, and company fit us can enhance or detract from our life fulfillment.

Continue reading how previous work experience you hated can help you with career & job choices you're making today.

Ann, Thank you so much for commenting and your continued support. Another one of those experiences you can’t imagine till you’re in the midst of it is LABOR! (You’ll never also forget those hours of laboring for your first child! No Lamaze class can prepare you for the real deal!) …. Much like work labor… sometimes taxing, but in the end, it’s so worth it!

“Nothing becomes real until it is experienced.” Wow that’s a mouthful and there’s so much truth there Marcy! Just as you don’t really know what marriage or parenthood will be like until you are in the thick of the day to day experience – the same is true of any job. And paying attention to what you don’t like to do is just as important as what you love to do. This is a great piece!
