We are so glad you're here and ready to take the next step! We created 48days.net as a place for community. For people to encourage each other and help each other in finding or creating work that is meaningful.

But frankly, we've outgrown it, so we're moving to provide you new resources.

Christmas day has come and gone and I must say, it did not exactly turn out as I had imagined it.  But looking back on Christmases past, I have to honestly admit, they never really do.  In fact, I am beginning to believe that the picture perfect “Courier and Ives/ Better Homes and Gardens/Southern Living style Christmases do not exist.  However, the more Christmases I celebrate, the more I am actually becoming okay with this reality.  Read more

Very beautifully expressed and explained.  Christmas ends up being one day we celebrate but keeping Christmas alive in our hearts throughout the year is the way to make this meaningful.  We face disappointments and discouraging things and sadness on a daily basis in one way or another.  But remembering and truly, deeply believing that God is indeed with us - that He is here ever second and step of the way and no matter how bad things look, He is still on the throne and He will prevail - is a truth and comfort we can hold on to.

Rochelle, I've been making a concerted effort to work at living in the present, and as a result - this Christmas was the best ever. I let go of expectations and took each day and hour for what it brought. It was very sad to take down the decorations, but then I got excited about all my goals for 2013 and putting things away was bitter sweet.

We did keep a Nativity on our dresser for a few extra weeks, however, to keep focused on what the season was all about.

Best of luck to you!
