It takes a lot of effort to break free from comfort zones, or to expand them. People will spend their whole lives miserable until it finally hurts more to stay there than stretch their comfort zone, or unless someone yanks the rug out from under them!
So what gives, why is it so hard to leave if you hate your job so much? Do you feel like if you leave, that you’re just going to sit on your butt all day? Wow, reality check… And that is exactly what some people do. They get laid off, and send a couple of applications or résumé’s online and they hope someone is going to call them. They literally sit on their butts and waste away.
But that’s not you right? You’re different. If you left your job you would be out there making connections, doing everything possible to land a knock-out position that you can actually enjoy. I mean, that is what you want isn’t it?
So what’s it going to take? Oh I get it… You need to pay your bills… Okay, now that’s a legitimate fear…. NOT! Give me a break, how much do utilities really cost, and do you really think you’re going to starve? Can you really not cut down on your spending habits, and break down your expenses. Don’t worry; your creditors will live for a few weeks; especially if your health is in jeopardy from too much job stress and hatred for the world!
Do you not have any savings; do you not have any thing that you can turn into cash? Do you really need health insurance right now/this month? Do you really have to drive places all the time? Even if it did get this bad, is keeping your house worth your sanity and health, and do you really think you won’t ever have a place to sleep with a roof over your head?
Do you really have to have this, and do you really have to have that? Put it this way, as long as you have clothes on back, food to eat, a roof over your head, then what’s their not to be grateful for, especially if you have loved ones to share it with. What are you waiting for? What is keeping you from stepping into this beautiful world?
“Got everything I need right here with me. I got air in my lungs, a few blank sheets of paper. I mean, I love waking up in the morning not knowing what’s gonna happen or, who I’m gonna meet, where I’m gonna wind up. Just the other night I was sleeping under a bridge and now here I am on the grandest ship in the world having champagne with you fine people. I figure life’s a gift and I don’t intend on wasting it. You don’t know what hand you’re gonna get dealt next. You learn to take life as it comes at you…to make each day count.” ~Leonardo Dicaprio playing the role of Jack Dawson on the movie Titanic
