Your place for community & resources to find or create work you love
We are so glad you're here and ready to take the next step! We created 48days.net as a place for community. For people to encourage each other and help each other in finding or creating work that is meaningful.
But frankly, we've outgrown it, so we're moving to provide you new resources.
48Days.net will be closing as it is today on November 30, 2017. Until then current members can click the button below to access groups and resources.
If you're new to 48days.net, connect here for a close up look at our thriving 48 Days Eagles Community and to get weekly free resources and motivation as you find and create work you love.
It's been 2 years since i've had a full time J-O-B. I have worked part time and been able to keep my benefits going by the earnings offsetting the benefits. As a student, this has been a great help.
Our pastor asked early this year who had a terrible 2009, and everyone raised their hands; but me. I told her later that '09 was the best year I've ever had.
I've discovered the treasure that is contract work, and I actually make more money driving to work than I ever made working. I sell stuff out of my garage (A La American Pickers) and sell on eBay. I get to travel the mid-west, expenses paid, and actually HAD to buy a truck. My life has never been better, and I owe it all to the recession.
If I hadn't lost my construction job I would have never been forced to face my fears.
I had to go back to unemployment for something the other day. Unbelievable!
Every day, people gripe about their jobs, boss, pay. These folks are sitting around, complaining about having to wait for their questions to be answered. Most of them just want to get home and watch "Baywatch" re-runs.
They make over $10 an hour sitting there, and would be doing nothing productive even if they were home. (Just a suggestion: You could pay a month's rent or more every year for what you pay for those cigarettes.)
They found their niche: getting paid to whine.
Fine. Stay home and gripe. Blame Bush. Blame Obama. Blame Lincoln for all I care. The longer it takes you to realize there's enough for everyone, the more turkey I can eat while I soar with the rest of the eagles.
