Your place for community & resources to find or create work you love

We are so glad you're here and ready to take the next step! We created 48days.net as a place for community. For people to encourage each other and help each other in finding or creating work that is meaningful.

But frankly, we've outgrown it, so we're moving to provide you new resources.

48Days.net will be closing as it is today on November 30, 2017. Until then current members can click the button below to access groups and resources.

If you're new to 48days.net, connect here for a close up look at our thriving 48 Days Eagles Community and to get weekly free resources and motivation as you find and create work you love.

You may have heard the analogy on digging meaningless ditches. Many lives are caught in the pattern of digging ditches with no idea why, they’re just digging. And if the boss said “fill that hole back up and dig one over there”, then that’s what we march to; which is to the beat of an order that makes no sense to us.

We just dig, and we dig as hard as we can with the intentions of impressing someone so we can get a raise, and buy more lottery tickets!

Does that really makes any sense? To me it sure doesn’t, but I know we just do it. We’re caught in the social conditioned life and way of doing things, so we don’t know any better. I used to not know any better; I had the cart before the horse. Many of us do.

But that’s okay, that’s why people like me all over the place are here to help remind you that there is more than meets the eye. I’ve seen it! You can break free, and all you have to do is think about your next move towards what inspires you, and take action.

Nothing says you have to do anything. You make your misery, or you make your wealth; either way, you make it!

I grabbed a fortune cookie with a fortune that said, “Good ideas will spring forth naturally from your mind in the coming week”

Now, that’s my kind of fortune!

Reminds me of all the people who are hard at it, working tenaciously trying to make ends meet, as though the harder you work the easier your life is going to get. Many are even buying lottery tickets when they can, hoping to win millions and escape their misery.

Meanwhile, I apparently just buy fortune cookies! That one was a fluke, but a wonderful fluke, and a message to remind me that hard work is good, but only when you have a great idea to work for.

Hard work alone does not make you millions. It’s the great ideas that can make you millions.

Instead of spending time working for monthly bills and lottery tickets, why don’t you spend that time investing in yourself and your personal intellect in order to think of great ideas and solutions that could help people, and set you up for life as well?

Amen, Don! You said it well... WE do have the power within us, we've already been given this power, and it's about tapping into that. Too many times we sit and wait, like we're waiting for a magic spell to relieve our anxiety, but to me it's like we're telling God, "You know God, that's wasn't enough, you need to give me more"... I think out of everything He's given us, not to mention "our life", we have a responsibility to be good stewards of all of it. May we not ever wait; but tap into what we have and make things happen...

Love the last sentence!   Great!  We work hard to create an atmosphere where we can get a raise and pay bills and that's where our minds seem to stop.  Why don't we work hard to create an atmosphere that fosters big thinking and big ideas that will turn into big rewards?

My favorite and foundational scripture for my life is Ephesians 3:20.  "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us..."

Tells me we are not thinking big enough or asking big enough.  It also says that "the power that works in us."  WE, not God...WE have the power in us to change things and make things happen.  We need to stop waiting on Him all the time when He told us WE have the power to think and ask and change our lives.

Keep it up Rob!!

Thanks Keith... Yes, hard work alone is pointless without a purpose behind it.

Great post!  I especially liked how you said, "hard work is good, but only when you have a great idea to work for".
