When Joanne and I were working on our second book together, we tried to document every step of the way (from storyboard to printer) so that we could share with everyone and also benefit from the suggestions and comments of other 48 Day’s members. I really enjoyed the back and forth and learned so much...
...we’re going to try this again:
As we’re working on our next book, we’re doing school/library visits to promote the books and to encourage kids to read/draw/write.
So, maybe we can start this again: this time documenting what we’re learning about doing these presentations, please add comments and suggestions!
Joanne and I live 600 miles from each other (a 9½ hour drive)…sooo, for the most part we have to do this separately….but...I am teaming up with a local (in the Pittsburgh area) author/illustrator and we’re going to do a kind of “two-for-one”. We’ll BOTH do presentations at each school/library we schedule, for the price of one presenter(or thereabouts). And we’ll still be able to sell our books….and have fun with the kids. Hopefully this will work, but we can modify the plan as we go along.
We have a tentative plan, that we will begin to post this week. I think we'll add it to Kent Julian's WRITE IT FORWARD Group...so that's where the discussion will take place, I think. (maybe I'll add it here also?)
