We have a choice, at least three times a day, to either provide high quality fuel for our bodies and brains or to put junk in. Just as in a car or any other machine, the quality of the fuel will determine the quality of the output. I’ve mentioned in prior posts the gut-brain connection so I won’t repeat that now. But this article talks about some of the best brain foods including ginger, chlorella, spirulina, curcumin, celery, cabbage and spinach. Of course the recommendation is to choose organic since added pesticides or GMOs will cancel out any benefits.
As the article states, much of our food choices are driven by pleasure and convenience. We grab what looks or sounds good, what we may be craving or what is fast and easy in the moment.
