My kids have heard hundreds of times in their young lives,"change your attitude, change your day."
If you don't have a great attitude, do us a favor and go get out and get you some. It will change not only your world, but chances are someone else's world around you.
The greatest day in your life and mine is when we take total responsibility for our attitudes.
That's the day we truly grow up. ~ John C. Maxwell
Question: How do you "gain" your positiveness back when you have "lost it"?

Jeff...LOVE the choice of you taking action to acting your way into new feelings. That is not always the easiest to do so I applaud you for doing so. What a great testimony that it is possible to intentionally change our attitudes.
Thanks Jen, Great Post! Just yesterday I woke up in a bad mood and did not feel like doing anything. For an hour, my day got worse and I accomplished little. Having learned from Dan about acting our way into new feelings, I essentially restarted the day with some focus, gratitude and purpose. Things improved quickly and it was all up to me.
oh FUN!! I heard Michael Hyatt's announcement on his Launch conference and that you were one of the guest speakers. It is no surprise that you are getting these amazing opportunities as your message of Wisdom as well as Passion is a much needed message for MANY to hear. I hope you and Joanne have a very FUN time!
I was going to comment on Michael's recent morning routine podcast - he is expanding my horizion of trying new things. I actually mediated twice in last two days and even took 4 naps this summer (from earlier podcast)! Yep, the ripples just keep going. (:
Comment by Dan Miller on October 17, 2012 at 8:55pm oh thanks Peter! We are in the process of rebranding my whole website this week and the link just went up to the new website. I forgot to switch it over so thank you for letting me know.
Thanks Ann. It is pretty wild when we think about how ripples from others that sometimes unknowingly go out to others. I love the ripples you are sending out Ann with your drive to educate people on healthy living in a kind, patient, and caring way.
Comment by Ann Musico on October 17, 2012 at 7:24am Great post and great question - and I love thinking about the "ripple effects" of those who have influenced each of us and of those we will hopefully be influencing for the better as well!
Comment by Peter A Ferguson on October 17, 2012 at 7:03am Nice blog Jen.
Your "Jump to Blog" link ends up with a 404 message.
p.s. I wouldn't have normally said "go out and get you some" however, your good friend Dave Ramsey uses that and it always cracks me so I mimicked him a bit - ripples are good.
I had not heard of him before Dan. It is fun to hear you talk about people who have influenced your life (i.e. Earl Nightingale, etc.). Those ripple affects that we all have in our lives can do be incredibly powerful. I think wow, you are up to almost 12,000 people just on the 48days.net group, your podcasts are heard world wide, your books are in how many languages, and your blogs are read by many. I would have to think that the people who influenced you would be smiling right now if they saw the ripple affects you continue to pass on to others.
It is pretty amazing how our attitudes really can pave our paths. Thank you for sending these quotes over, they are beautiful.
Comment by Dan Miller on October 17, 2012 at 6:38am Jen - great stuff. William James was a philosopher and psychologist who died back in 1910. His writings on blending faith and psychology were a big factor in my choosing psychology as my college major.
Here are a couple of my favorite William James quotations:
“It is our attitude at the beginning of a difficult undertaking which, more than anything else, will determine its successful outcome.”
"The greatest discovery of my generation is that a human being can alter his life by altering his attitudes of mind."
