Your place for community & resources to find or create work you love

We are so glad you're here and ready to take the next step! We created 48days.net as a place for community. For people to encourage each other and help each other in finding or creating work that is meaningful.

But frankly, we've outgrown it, so we're moving to provide you new resources.

48Days.net will be closing as it is today on November 30, 2017. Until then current members can click the button below to access groups and resources.

If you're new to 48days.net, connect here for a close up look at our thriving 48 Days Eagles Community and to get weekly free resources and motivation as you find and create work you love.

What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail?

What if you deliberately chose to take a path in life where you knew there was a good chance you would fail?

Would you steer clear of the challenge?  say bring it on?  start strong and then give up?

I recently watched a message that asked: those questions and more.  If you’d like to watch it too, here is a link:

 http://northpoint.live/messages/voices/chasing-failure

There are a lot of things that we don’t do because we are afraid of failing.  That isn’t the only thing holding us back though.  A lot of clients that I know are equally afraid of success. They work hard at making their dream come true, put in hours, attend all kinds of training, even invest dollars in the outcome and just about the time they are about to see results… they slow down or even quit.  Why? Where does their motivation and energetic drive go?

Marianne Williamson writes:  Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, “Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?”

Take just a moment and imagine it.  What if your wildest dream came true?  What if you spent a day at the top of your game, on the top of your world, accomplishing your goal?  How would you feel?  Excited? Confident?  Scared to death?  What emotion is driving your efforts and your future?

So often we play small.  We live insignificant lives when we are capable of making a difference in the world.  We don’t share our insight, our knowledge our talent.  We say things like,

I don’t really have a talent.

Other people can do extraordinary things.  I’m just a regular guy… or girl.

Do something like that?  I can’t possibly…

What is the answer?  I think the answer is to get out of our own way.  I think the answer is to remember who we would be serving, who we would benefit if we achieved even half of what is possible. I’m not saying it is easy.  I’m not saying it is always rewarding or even successful.  But I am saying that if you benefit just one other person with your ability, talent, and gifts… then you have stepped into the greatest role possible.

Instead of asking “Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?”  ask yourself, “Why not be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?”

"I am saying that if you benefit just one other person with your ability, talent, and gifts… then you have stepped into the greatest role possible. " That's such a great statement and I wholeheartedly agree. I also agree that fear of success is probably a bigger stumbling block than fear of failure for many (myself included!).
