Yesterday was the first day of school in my city and many surrounding counties. As I thought about all the children going back to school a question popped in my head?
Did I miss a lesson?
Most of us have studied hard, some harder than others, but I know there was a lesson which was missed.
** most people do not read a book after they finish high school
** ten years after they have graduated 80% of the people with a college degree are not working in their field of major
** unemployment numbers are high
** about 85% of working folks do not like their jobs
As you talk to, coach, mentor, tutor and hangout with students this school year start asking them a pointed question.
Ask this: How do you want to spend your (working) day?
That might be a trick question for many people, but in the quest to live a more fulfilling life it is a question worth asking. For many the answer isn't easy to come by.
Questions:
1. What helped you narrow down your area of interest?
2. Are you truly on the path toward work you love?
3. If you could study a subject right now, what would it be?
Keep learning. Stay alert, there are lessons long the way to work you love, don't miss them.
Thanks for stopping by. Pull up a chair and come back often.
