Sometimes we neglect certain important areas and don’t know why. Many times that neglecting habit burdens vital areas such as family, marriage, or our health.
If you have this issue you might want to take a look at your own calendar. Do you find any of the neglected areas on your calendar?
If not, there’s a great explanation. One way to begin building this habit is to start intentionally placing this area on your calendar.
We tend to prioritize what’s not second nature on our calendars. If it’s not second nature to us, and we haven’t placed in on our calendars or daily goal reminders it will probably get neglected.
Some say you can tell a lot about someone by looking at their calendar. I’d like to challenge that and say you can tell a lot about yourself by looking at your own calendar.
That’s mainly because you don’t know what comes second nature to someone else.
Eating, brushing my teeth, and taking showers are all very high priorities to me, but its second nature. I don’t have to think about it, so therefore it doesn’t go on my goal sheet or calendar.
Business administration, or daily/weekly updates I do have to think about so it does go on my calendar along with meetings, special events and extra fun things we do.
Everything else that’s vitally important that’s not on my goals sheet I would have typically already invested in before the workday day started.
Is there anything not on your calendar that’s not second nature?
