I was updating my blog last night, kind of excited about the morning because I got to serve my church as fill-in preacher. Wanted to share some thoughts about the experience.
My goal was about 400-500 words for the blog's content. Had reached the target zone for word-count, had a nice flowing blog nearly ready to post. All that was left was to add a picture into WordPress. Grabbed just the right pic, clicked on the button to add...and there was the picture. In the top left corner, not at the bottom. Hey! Where'd all the text go? And then I saw the auto "save draft" button engage. Aaagh! WordPress saved the picture right over where all the text had been.
Frustrated doesn't quite capture the feeling at the time. Had to just call it a day and go to bed. I've almost lost all my writing before, more than a few times, but have always been able to recover it (most of it, anyhow), with recovery tools in MS Word. But WordPress got me good, yesterday.
Lesson learned: from now on, copy (from Word) and paste (into WordPress).
