Nicholas at Legoland
Legoland is my son Nicholas’s number one destination that he wants to get to and we just happened to give him a taste of it this weekend inAtlanta. In a just a couple of years, he and I are going to take a special adventure trip to all the ones we can find. Talk about something that lights him up, when you mention Legos he goes nuts!
I got this adventure idea from Bob Goff in his book “Love Does”. That is an amazing read and I highly recommend you reading this if you’re on the quest for deeper meaning in your life.
One of the things he promised each of his children was on their 10th birthday (I believe it was 10th) that they can pick any destination in the world and he and that child would make a three day adventure out of it.
Well, I love the idea! I think its well worth the investment in our children, so I promised my own something similar.
My oldest son Tyler is already beyond 10 years old, so we’re going to do his after he graduates high school. He has a couple of number one destinations that he wants to get to and actually do. One is in Spain; and that has a lot to do with his Soccer ambitions, but the other idea is that he wants to try Wingsuit Flying!
Naturally, this one freaks me out a little, but it looks incredibly awesome and he says that he and I are going to be doing this sometime after he graduates. Okay, Wow… Great! Bring it on!
However, the thing is I don’t think it’s something we can accomplish in just a few days as it appears to be a mastered technique; at least on the surface that’s what it looks like. Either way, we’ll see if we can be creative about it and maybe at least begin Tyler’s journey of Wingsuit flying if he’s still up for it by that time.
If you don’t know what Wingsuit flying is, check out the video below. Crazy stuff! This is not just your ordinary skydive:

In the meantime, I’m going to leave you with this question to challenge and motivate your thinking to another level as we begin this week:
If you can do anything in the world; be anything, experience anything, live out anything and you only had a week to do it what would that be? Where would you go?
Now, what is stopping you?
