Sometimes getting started on a project or activity can be so difficult. I have always noticed that those first few steps (literally or figuratively) can be the most horrendous to complete. Especially for those of us who love to procrastinate. I can always come up with a million other things I could get done that would be easier or would not take as long. Logically then, I might as well do those first which then that leaves me with no time to start the big project I had been putting off anyways. Getting started is always the biggest hurdle.
However, I have also learned there is truth to the “fake it till you make it” philosophy. Think about exercise as an example. There are days when I have no motivation to get outside and run. If I am able to drag myself out the door, the first half mile feels like torture dragging legs of lead. But once I warm up and move into my gait,...
