Zig Ziglar tells of how his group was having a workshop and went out to dinner that night and decided to put something they learned into practice. Their waiter was an excellent server, He was polite and attentive without becoming familiar and they were  impressed with him. Each of them wrote a sentence on a piece of paper about the man, something like I like John because. They left it at the table and after they left the restaurant the waiter appeared and as Zig put it he broke down and He said "In all of my years of working here nobody has ever done this before and I have been working here 20 years" They did not mention whether the group tipped him. I am sure that left a greater impression on him than the money.  In my opinion they also gave themselves a great blessing as well. This is a technique someone could use to manipulate someone but it is also a great and rare gift that could be given sincerely. I think most of us enjoy that kind of appreciation.

Dan has often shared his car sales story of selling to the man with bare feet when no one else wanted to deal with him. That one sale led to many future sales. Pretty fun.
