Your place for community & resources to find or create work you love
We are so glad you're here and ready to take the next step! We created 48days.net as a place for community. For people to encourage each other and help each other in finding or creating work that is meaningful.
But frankly, we've outgrown it, so we're moving to provide you new resources.
48Days.net will be closing as it is today on November 30, 2017. Until then current members can click the button below to access groups and resources.
If you're new to 48days.net, connect here for a close up look at our thriving 48 Days Eagles Community and to get weekly free resources and motivation as you find and create work you love.
I love the growth and inspiration I receive from listening to Dan every week and now from becoming more active on this website. I really don't know why it took me so long to really join in the discussions. I think the way of 48 days is so different from what we are used to seeing "out there" that it can be hard to really believe it is possible. That is why listening to the real-life stories and questions of real people who are out there "doing the darn thing" is so encouraging.
My story is that I am a new artist in training. I was studying fashion design but realized that my real interest in fashion was really in the artistic aspect of it. After taking two art classes this summer, which were prerequisites for another fashion class, I knew that I had stumbled upon my true passion. So, I changed my major and am now studying art.
What intimidated me the most was starting from scratch. I hadn't drawn anything since I was in middle school and I just assumed that I couldn't. My family stressed academics over everything and I went to a very competitive high school and college. Art was never a thought in my head because I did not consider it a real career. However, now that I have allowed myself to consider the "impossible", I am amazed at all of my mental baggage. The good news is that now I am on a wonderful path that is by no means "secure" but neither is any other path.
I hope you enjoy my progress as I sure enjoy all of yours! Take good care and I hope to see all of us at the top!
