The good micro-organisms or probiotics can positively affect our digestive, immune, nervous and endocrine systems. Research also showed the interesting shift of bacterial composition in obese individuals.
More and more people are getting to know the benefits of having healthy “gut bacteria”, and the factors that cause imbalance include but not limited to: processed/refined foods, high sugar diet, antibiotics, beef and dairy from “conventionally” raised cattle, birth control pills, anti-cholesterol meds, antidepressants and blood thinning drugs. Health coach Ann Musico also talked about how our emotional state, especially stress, can influence our probiotics.
