According to “Preventing Childhood Obesity”, over the past three decades, the childhood obesity rate has more than doubled for preschool children aged 2-5 years and adolescents aged 12-19 years, and it has more than tripled for children aged 6-11 years.
So many times we hear: “This disease (high blood pressure, diabetes, heart problems…), runs in my family”. I believe in genetic factor, but a lot of times we inherit unhealthy lifestyles, which could be much more detrimental.
We all want to leave a legacy for our children. And I believe teaching them to eat healthy is one of the most important ways. Monica Brown, mother of seven, owner of Your Health Source, shared tips that helped her make changes within her own family.
