Learning difficulties and a speech impediment made the uphill journey for him even steeper, as his elementary school teachers couldn’t quite understand why he had advanced upward from one grade to the next without grasping the fundamentals. (Jump to the full article and podcast.)
As he completed secondary education, desiring to move into college studies, his climb was not yet over; it seemed that his SAT scores were not at the level they needed to be and before he could even be considered for a state school, he would have to complete required developmental coursework.
While not easy, Kent did what he always tries to do with something he’s committed to, and that is to hang in there. And hang in there he did as he went on to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree from Toccoa Falls College and then later a Masters from Grace University.
