We are so glad you're here and ready to take the next step! We created 48days.net as a place for community. For people to encourage each other and help each other in finding or creating work that is meaningful.

But frankly, we've outgrown it, so we're moving to provide you new resources.

48Days.net will be closing as it is today on November 30, 2017. Until then current members can click the button below to access groups and resources.

Winning the War over Worry (full Article)

"Don't worry about anything; instead pray about everything.  Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.  Then you will experience God's peace which exceeds anything we can understand.  His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus."  Philippians 4:6-7  (NLT)

One memory I will never forget as a young child is the voice of my dad, reassuring me whenever I was worried or afraid.  On such occasions he would always say, "Don't worry unless you see me worrying. "  In those days my dad's presence in my heart was larger than life.  He was my superhero, the bravest person I knew.  And so I believed him.  I never saw him worry even during some of the darkest times of our lives and so I never worried when I was with him because I knew he had everything under control and would keep me safe.

As an adult and especially as a parent I now understand his humanity and that he really did not have everything under control.   Even as a good father who did the very best he could and would have laid down his life for his kids, it was not humanly possible for him to be everything to us or protect us from everything. In reality his strong calm exterior probably concealed many of his own fears, worries, heartaches, and disappointments quite unbeknownst to us during those early years.  He was not perfect but one thing he did possess and instilled in us was a love for and a dependence on a Father much greater than himself...the Heavenly Father.

In so many ways Philippians 4:6-7 communicates the very same message that my earthly father had.  We should never worry unless we see Him worrying.  Yet unlike my earthly father,  Father God is the King of the universe and really DOES have everything under control.   Because He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords he will Never.. Ever.. be worried about Anything.  And so we never need to worry because He is able to be everything we need and is always with us...no matter what.  And THAT is good news!

"Even when I walk through the darkness valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me.."  Psalm 23: 5a (NLT)

This is beautiful Dr. Delain. So very true. I remember a long time ago when my husband, brother and father were all in business together and things were not going well. We were trying to sell it and it didn't look good. My dad who was always very easy going and even-keel was very anxious and upset. I tried to explain to him why I knew it would all work out and I remember telling him - I always went to him with a problem because I had total confidence in him and knew he always had my best interests at heart - well that's how I felt about my Heavenly Father. And I wanted him to know Him and trust Him because He would never let us down. And He, of course, worked everything out for our good and His glory and I was able to introduce my dad to my Dad.

Okay I just cut and pasted the full article so we do not have to deal with Wordpress.

I'm thinking it may be an issue on my end because it still takes me to my Wordpress account

Hmm.  You are the second person to mention this.  When I click on it it does take me there.  Let me check it out and see what is going on.  It has got to be some setting.  Here is part 1

I don't know if this is just a problem for me or with the link but it doesn't take me to the rest of your post, but to sign in to Wordpress and then it goes to my page.
