Mistakes We Make in Job Interviews Infographic

by Pete Ferguson

I love Infographics! I subscribe to receive emails with several a day and I'm constantly surfing the Internet for new examples of how to breakdown complex information into a graphic representation.

This topic of job interviews is a great one. One of my largest pet peeves when I'm the interviewer is when I ask the applicant what…

Forty - One

In your 30s, you’re having a lot of varied experiences. You’re scrambling. You’re putting pieces in place. In your 40s, those pieces start to coalesce into knowledge about who you are and how life works. ~ Suzy Welch

Is Your Plate Too Full? Get a Bigger Plate

It can be as important to say "no" as it is to say "yes" when people are demanding your time - but sometimes you just need a new perspective - you need a larger plate.

by Pete Ferguson

A month or so ago I was talking to my boss about all we had going on and he introduced another item - to which I responded that our plate was already…

Quality vs. Convenience

An escalator can never break: it can only become stairs. You should never see an "Escalator Temporarily Out Of Order" sign, just "Escalator Temporarily Stairs. Sorry for the Inconvenience." ~ Mitch Hedberg…

Go Down the Path

When I stood in front of a group of 50 or so fellow hopefuls in June of 2012 and committed to walk down a path of regular writing, the path was dark, and I was both excited – and scared to death.

I had so much inside and it needed to get out. I didn’t consider myself an expert on much of anything, so I dove deeply into a…

Hydration - Eat Your Fruits and Veggies!

48 Dayers - This is my first paid blog. Exciting stuff! I'm not an expert on nutrition, but I'm working hard to get into shape and I am pretty good at cranking out 500 words in an hour or so - something my "Wellness BootCamp" instructor is not good at. So we are trading services and the dollar amount works out well for me - and for her. For one blog a week on wellness I get three hours of getting my butt kicked into shape. Ann and Farnoosh - I'll be attributing to you both often and…

Soda - POP - or Coke?

In my 13th year I moved from Utah to Texas to New Jersey.

I never knew that simple words could become such a big thing. In Texas I was beraded endlessly for referring to the sugary sweet carbinated beverage I had known my whole life as "Pop."

by Pete Ferguson

"Pop? - What are you like 80 years old?" I would hear multiple times.
