Hello, Where have I been a few of you have asked? My answer is that I thought that I was pretty good at basic math but now I doubt that. What I mean is back in November we had baby #2, a sweet little boy. Up until that point, our routines were set. I scheduled time for writing, my…Continue

Hello, For anyone that has followed what I do, I am a Food Writer. It is so much fun to visit restaurants and enjoy their delicious cuisines. Most of my vacations are based on finding food, with little else on the agenda. That drives some people nuts but I love it. Just last night my…Continue

I had the privilege of writing an article for City Weekly on one of the Best Burgers in the area.
This same publication invited me to do some Holiday food writing for both Thanksgiving and Christmas.
I have been spending a little time each day working on my dream.
Since I was a little kid I have been able to Swim; at least a loose definition of the word. I could tread water, play in lakes, rivers, the ocean and swimming pools with little difficulty. Racing across a pool was fun because I often won and didn't have to worry much about technique during short bursts.
However, There is one aspect of swimming that has bothered me for a while; That is the inability to swim any distance of note. I would kick my way, breath my way (which entailed…Continue
Last week I had the privilege of writing an article about a new
Gourmet Hot Dog Restaurant for a local publication. Those Dogs were amazing.
I am so grateful for the doors which open when we "get in the game."
Feel free to check out the article:…Continue

Some of the best food is the off-the-beaten-path comfort food. Alice’s Kitchen in North Salt Lake is just that. You wouldn’t have any idea it was there unless someone guided you in.
What a fun experience to write about Alice’s. Please check it out:…Continue

Not it is not an oxymoron? It's a delicious restaurant that has done a wonderful job of incorporating Indian Spices with American Comfort Food. Just by walking in, you will be in a complete meditative state from the aroma.
This place truly has Artists at work. Check out the…Continue

Hello, I have been working hard at getting a food writing article published every week. There are some amazing things happening.
Going to Innov48 back in March really got me in the mindset to move forward.
I love it and thanks for all your help. Please check out the article:
On a quiet corner in downtown Salt Lake City, there is a place so obvious that you might miss it. This is because you won't realize that it's one of the best burger joints in the city. They do a good job of disguising themselves; maybe not intentionally. It appears to be an antique…Continue
Over the weekend, I entered a Chili Cookoff. Having never cooked a chili before, I felt a little intimidated; especially since I helped to organize the event.
I had a great time and took 3rd, 4th & 5th amongst the Judges. I didn't add up to an overall top 3 finish but I was…Continue

While out to eat with a friend the week before we last, we went to a Grill that I have been driving past for years. It was one of those places that I told myself I would get to when I had time. We all know that this is like saying you will save whatever money is left at the end of the month; it…Continue
Yes, that was my experience the first time that I went to Grove Market & Deli: I thought that they were handing me a newborn child. It felt like a whole loaf of bread stuffed with delicious meats and cheeses. You can eat this for lunch, dinner and breakfast the next…Continue
Last month at the Innov48 Conference I shared that I have a love affair with food. It's one of those affairs that you don't need to keep secret. Often people ask me where they should go to eat and they are a little confused when I don't immediately have an answer. That is because I like to get…Continue
Thank you Michael Hyatt and everyone else here who is much smarter at technology than I am. A few weeks ago I had "Suprise Announcement #1" on my Blog. That was to share about me not being published in the local newspaper weekly. Now I want to take my writing to the next level and Wordpress is the way to do that.
Please check out the site. I truly appreciate any feedback.…Continue
It's the unique creations and options that stand out at a restaurant. Sometimes we want the comfort of the familiar and other times, okay often, we want something unique; in other words, the WOW factor.
One of the "Wows" that I have found is Siam Orchid's "Build Your Own Noodle Menu"…Continue
