Life Lessons from the Chicken Coop

My growing passion over the last few years has been anything sustainable.  Our family jokingly calls me a modern hippy...I use to take offense at that but now it's a badge of honor.

I recently built my first "chicken tractor" for our 3 backyard, egg-producing, composting machines.  What I discovered in this…

Be patient, enjoy the journey of becoming free, and find some ways to splash some fun in your life

I love summertime! Even feeling cruddy on a summer day doesn't seem as bad as on a cold winter day.

With our first hot weekend arriving, we decided to use our entertainment money this month and scrape a little out of our groceries (eating Ramen noodles and hot dogs a little more this month will be worth it) we bought a 24 x12 ft swimming pool…

I noticed at the beginning of this year, one particular lady was very intentional…

Show 094 Finding your Voice "Jonathan Spinks: Fighting - for a change."

Shifting his bike into the highest gear possible, he cranked back on the accelerator, hunched his body downward, and, with all the force the machine could generate, the undefeated prize fighter let it fly forward at 100-plus miles per hour. (Jump to the podcast.)

Unstoppable in his chosen profession, as a stray car found its way into his lane of traffic, he…

7 Day Stamina Challenge

A powerful book, taken in at just the right time, can provide the necessary voltage for transformation.

“Stop Saying you Fine” by my new friend Mel Robbins, (I just finished it for the second time) is one of those books.

It’s an action-packed book that is written and designed to…

My Personal Search for Discipline

Discipline. It's a word that can send shivers up your spine. But I am convinced, now more than ever, that discipline, in the form of being organized and on top of all of your responsibilities and commitments, is probably one of the greatest ways to improve yourself...EVER!

Well, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. I have struggled to be more disciplined for much of my adult life. Some of you may be aware that I have a blog called…

Now What?

OK, you may be saying, “So, I now realize that God has not saved me just to sit, soak, and sour” in the pew! Now what? How do I get out this rut I have carved for myself?"

What a great question to start with! Instead of looking at it from the standpoint of despair, understand that just by asking this question alone is a huge step in the right direction. As the old saying goes, “You won’t know what you don’t know, until you know that you don’t know it”!

So, let’s analyze… Continue

He's Still Working On Me.

Okay... So, the Instructor told us to ask our friends, family, leaders, etc. If they consider us [um yes-me] to be a "godly" person... I immediately thought well, my goodness -NO! Really, I don't need to ask that of anyone, cause, No more than likely Not!

However, a childhood song did come up right away -- flooding my thoughts -- thought I'd share it with yall. Now, if I could Only Get it out of my mind I might could watch the remainder of the lecture! LOL… Continue
