We are so glad you're here and ready to take the next step! We created 48days.net as a place for community. For people to encourage each other and help each other in finding or creating work that is meaningful.

It is often said that bankruptcy gives a debtor a fresh start, but filing bankruptcy is not a panacea for all financial problems. Declaring bankruptcy can seriously damage a person's credit rating, making it difficult to establish credit or take out loans in the future. Many people can work themselves out of even very serious debt without ever going near a bankruptcy court, so declaring bankruptcy… Continue

Financial Planning: The World Versus the Word

Look at the economic mess the world is in. When it comes to your finances, are you confident in your future or confused? If you are like most Americans right now, you are complete confused. My 14 years of experience has taught me that you may be confused as to how to manage your money simply because you have taken the world’s advice. You may have formed your financial habits from your parents, friends, school, church, or a financial professional. How successful has that been for you? For many,… Continue

Train Your Virtual Assistant Using This Cool Tool

Systems are king in your business. You should be training your virtual assistant using an ops manual... or way easier, by video.

I use a free service called Jing Project to video-capture what I'm doing on my desktop to and send the video to my assistant to whom I'm delegating a task.

* It's free

* It saves time

* If you have to re-hire an assistant for the same task, just send them the video!

This… Continue

Another hyper kid turned millionaire adult

I LOVE Success Magazine! So when I won a Border’s Gift Card, I buzzed right down there and bought the latest issue. On the cover is Tony Hawk, the world famous skateboarder.

I gotta tell you something that was really cute. In each issue, they include an audio CD and on this one was an interview with Hawk. I had to stop at the house in between errands to drop off something and had the magazine out in the van still. I mentioned to Caleb that Tony Hawk was in this issue of… Continue

In A Ditch With Your Pitch? Fix It. Here's How.

How you tell people what you do when asked can mean the difference between more clients or just more random contact with humans in general.

I'm going to show you an amazing online tool in a minute that will help you with this, but first, let's hear some PPP's (pretty poor pitches)...

"I'm a life coach."

"I'm a consultant."

"I'm in sales."

"I'm-a-fill-in-the-blank" is a lousy pitch, unless your a cop in uniform arriving… Continue

A happy report- Labels are for Soup Cans presentation

I just got back a short bit ago from my speaking engagement to Christian Women in the Marketplace. I had SO much fun! And the comments were all favorable…no rotten fruit thrown!

What utterly amazed me were the amount of women who shared their personal stories with me afterward. ADHD and labels is ONE HOT TOPIC! More than one was in tears thanking me for sharing. (Either that or they were so relieved I was done.)

I can’t believe how much fun this was. And when I think I was… Continue

New Media and the Two Conversations

New marketing is all about conversations...not the “conversation” where you, the marketer, shout out your message to as many people as possible, but the conversation where your customers are talking to their contacts about your company.

The first conversation is the conversation that's happening some place else.

Right now, if you have any market saturation at all, people are talking about your company. They may be saying… Continue

Day One on what will be the world's #1 social network for small business

We've been planning this for a while, I'm excited for the launch. At 37 years old, I was a literal employee for two years. All I know for the most part is self-employment and generating my own income. I want this to be home-base...the hub...for likeminded folks. Whether they are already there, or just want to be.

If I want huge muscles, I join a gym or health club and hire a personal trainer. If I want to rock at generating my own income, this is the place!

They Lied. Words Can Hurt

I went to college AND I graduated. I am smart and I focused and graduated on time. Eight semesters and no summer school. Now, I'm not going to talk about college as a whole right now, that's for another blog. There is a phrase that college (AND LOTS OF MONEY) is wasted on the young. Again, I'll talk about that at another time.

I need a Hug...

I finished a book recently about a single mother who was abandoned by her husband after not being able to handle the pressure of raising a special needs son. In this case it was a child with autism. The title of the book was Dancing with Max and the author was Emily Colson, daughter of Charles Colson, founder and president of Prison Fellowship and former aide to President Nixon. This book was filled with many stories and experiences that resonated with our…

A Rose Is Not Just A Rose!

I have a magnificent Rose. Actually my Rose is a person and she is a very special person indeed. I first heard of Rose Gauss from West Mifflin, PA a couple years ago when she won a 48 Days contest for her innovative idea for business. Dan and Kevin both agreed that not only was Rose extremely gifted but she was also a very sweet lady! Time went by and when I was mulling over the idea of turning what started out as a poem into a children's book I began looking for illustrators who would "see"… Continue
