What does being positive mean? One of my favorite quotes is by motivational speaker and legend, Zig Ziglar, “An optimist is a person who will use his last dollar to buy a money belt.”

I actually own a money belt. I have been taking account of several “friends” posts on Facebook as of late and was compelled to write this blog. I have a couple of unspoken rules I live by and for the sake of the reader I am going to now put them in writing.

  1. Make a choice to…

Gallagher's Speaking Tips (Top 30)

What can I say, I am a very list oriented person. Every now and then I sit down and begin making of list of something on my mind. This week I decided to begin making a list of simple public speaking tips I thought you might enjoy.

As some of you know, I am currently reaching out to begin motivational speaking and a client relations practice and creating a list like the one below helps to assist others in becoming better public speakers. I hope this list will inspire…

How to Waste Time

Time was created by the human mind when we began to determine the value in the rising and setting of the sun each day to day. The light replenishes the Earth from morning till evening before taking its slumber and allowing the stars of the universe to lull us to sleep against the background of the big ball of cheese we call the Moon.

From the beginning of time, we have cherished waking moments and chilling dreams.…

GREEN Tip of the Day August 31, 2010

Have you ever wondered if you've found a safe place to hide PIN numbers for your bank cards, credit cards, etc?...Try "hiding" them in FAKE phone numbers...For example, if your PIN is 7890, write it as, 412-492-"7890"...To identify it, use the bank tellers/managers first name with your debit card PIN or use the initials of the credit card, like Discover Card as Donna Cedar, American Express as Andy Edwards, etc...Only you know the true… Continue

Your Victory May Start with Perception

There is an eager individual who wants to succeed in life, which happens to make a small wage in his current job, but who cannot see a way out at the moment. His natural response tells him he is unlucky, and that life is not fair. He…

Why are you broke? Product of choice?

We have arrived at this point in our lives because of the choices we have made.

Sure, there are circumstances that happen to us that are out of our control but most of the time , our disasters are self inflicted.

When I chose to buy all of those homes, and chose to keep on purchasing more of them, and chose not to sell in time....those were my decisions. It was not the economies fault why we lost it all.....it was…

A Mom or a Mule?

Today we will begin a new chapter with Matthew. In another epic battle with the bureaucracy that is our healthcare insurance system Theresa was able to hear those comforting words: “You have been approved.”

Matthew has been granted a new communication device. One that we have field tested for a month or so and Matthew did really well with. Using the device along with sign language,…

If it Looks Like A Christian, Walks Like a Chrisitian, Talks Like a Christian

People become mortified whenever they hear of a prominent or even not so prominent Christian doing something they think is wrong. Mark Sanford, S.C. governor admitted to cheating on his wife Jennie, who later revealed he refused to take the vow of fidelity during their marriage ceremony. Jim Bakker, former TV evangelist and host of the "700club" was convicted of fraud and imprisoned. The FBI raided Tony AlamoChristian Ministries and its leader was convicted this past November on a…

GREEN Tip of the Day August 30, 2010

Owning a business or being in business, we all have business cards to let others know what we do and how they can reach us...But when that phone number/website changes or we move to another organization or get promoted with a new title, well, what can you do with those old/outdated business cards?..If they are printed on both sides and your name is on them, use the cards as bookmarks or cut out your name and tape it on items for identification...If they are… Continue

Financial head cold

I have had a head cold the last couple of days which has zapped my energy a bit. I’m feeling better today knowing that this will soon pass.

Did you ever feel like your finances will never get better? Does your

finances have a head cold? Ever notice that a head cold and financial

head cold are the same........both leave you in a fog?

One of the ways we get to that point is the fear of the unknown.

We are fearful of what we might find in the stack of bills.…

GREEN Tip of the Day August 29, 2010

To prevent that musty smell when storing books, here's what you can do...Place a new dryer sheet or two in each book...In the container/box that you're using, add a generous handful of kitty litter or baking soda OR one or two charcoal briquettes (yes, the kind for a charcoal grill) to help absorb any moisture.
