Ok this post may make a few of you mad at me. So sue me.
I have some friends who talk about God's timing. I totally believe in God's timing for things. I also believe that He created us with Free Will and that he WANTS us to use it. Here is my theology/philosophy on God's timing. One sentence, are you ready?
Pray to catch the bus. And run like crazy.
So, often I see people sitting back and doing nothing waiting for God to drop something in their lap (not that… Continue
Today, we launched the NEW IOU NO MORE. We took the book content, expanded the form set, made them reproducible, added some great hyperlinks and turned it into an ebook. We are very excited about it, because we can get more information into the hands of those who need budget and debt help at a much lower cost to them. You can read more at Recession Proof Living

Last week I wrote a post about Why do I have to Wear braces? Apparently the questining in school has not stoped. Yesterday Haley told her therapist at school that one of the kids told Haley she walked weird. She told another therapist that she and Mommy decided she didn't have to wear braces on days Haley doesn't have Gym and therapy. When she and I talked last night she told me about the girl and I asked what Haley said back to the girl. Haley… Continue
Last night I walk in the door with two pizzas for Daniel’s b-day dinner. That’ll be more than enough for growing teenagers, I had reasoned. The plans were, we eat at 6, the friends come at 6:30 for cake and ice cream.
Daniel flashed me his grin and informed me that the neighbors would be over any minute now. Sometime between 5 and 6.
As I sit here contemplating the next step in my own business development, I find myself thinking of a discussion I had with a friend last week. He, himself beginning his business journey, and I were discussing what makes one happy. There are many cliches, but maybe there are some truths behind that. "Be true to yourself" is one, but for many, how do you find out what being true to yourself is?
Finding what you are made to do when you have been told by so many folks from family and… Continue
Why a Financial Advisor admits, “I Just Walked Away From a Cushy Six-Figure Job With a National Brokerage Firm.”

The man, Jay Peroni author of two books and Certified Financial Planner, claims he’s found a better way to serve clients than what is being pushed and… Continue

How do you define success? If you don't have a clear definition of success, how do you hope to achieve it? This question came up at a business luncheon I attended yesterday and again last night reading a new book with my wife Laura - "In a Pit With a Lion On a Snowy Day" by Mark Batterson.
At the luncheon, a definition of success provided states "Success is NOT comparing yourself to other people. Success is comparing yourself to what you are called to do." Batterson's definition is… Continue
I hear a lot about failure and struggles, and whether or not we should really be so discouraged when things don’t always appear to go our way. Well from my experience, I realize that it’s very easy to say such a thing, but when the going gets tough, it’s also very easy to lose hope, and to lose sight of what it is we truly desire.
One way to help you get through the difficult times is to realize that it’s all a process. Everything you do, and everything God sends your way is a… Continue
I published a new website for free today. (See www.wix.com). It is rather basic. My 10-year old son is the webmaster. He did a great job! He goes back to school tomorrow so we wanted to get it out there.
It is raining hard outside and the drops of rain kissing the pavement calms me. Suddenly, I find peace at the sight of the water running down from the higher part of the pavement. The water is calm because there is no attempt of resistance. Just like the hot dampness encircling my eyelids.
It was a year ago when my will to continue life collapsed. I never thought of ending my life, but I never planned for its progress either. I was… Continue
Just finished watching a great movie! The premise of this movie was a couple who got engaged and the groom to be did not have any close friends. He never really grew close to any male companions, but felt that his side of the wedding party would be a bit bare, so he went on a mission.
The purpose of this post. . . .
During the movie -- Sydney (the new friend of the groom), while getting to know Peter (the groom), asked him why he hasn't sold a particular prime real estate… Continue
Yes, I can see all those nodding heads across the land....but those nods are qualified. As long as you have the right curriculum....as long as you "do enough"....and as long as mom doesn't burn out with a stress-related ailment....
Well, lemme tell you. When you've got a kid with learning differences those thoughts are especially weighty.
Daniel is 15 now. That's high school age according to the powers that be. And after a summer of seeing the Amish up close and… Continue
For the past 2-3 years of been doing a lot of soul searching. In that search I have stumbled up many personal development, leadership, and career books. Frankly, I think they all fall under "career books" because when you grow as a person, something remarkable happens. There is a shift in how you think, feel, and view things both personally and professionally.
Think shift from 1st gear: I used to have a "woeth" is me mentality. I used be pretty hard on myself for not having a career… Continue
Summer is almost over - schools are starting back, football is kicking off, and those beautiful Autumn colors are just around the corner. Out of all the 4 seasons, Autumn has to be my favorite. I hope that you have had a fantastic summer so far.
