First, this is not going to be a political rant. It has nothing to do with Republicans, Democrats or any other party. It has to do with the helpless mentality that cripples people in the greatest nation on earth. I saw a piece of junk car with a bumper sticker that said 'I am too poor to vote Republican'. To think that someone blames the government for their financial status is such a cop out. It's not the economy's fault, It's not the president's fault, It's not congress' fault......it is the…

DJ Gregory is a great guy. I had the oportunity to meet him a few weeks back and his witty story telling is wonderful. I have also had the opportunity to read his book about his year on the PGA tour. This is a wonderful book about the game of Golf and the athleets DJ walked with. DJ actually did something on the PGA tour that not other athleet has done. He walked every round of every match in the 2008 season. That's over 900 miles in 47 weeks. While that walk would be quite an accomplishment…

CNN just posted an article about a boy who is selling toys to help his family. His father, a construction worker, has been unemployed since December. This article impressed me because even though this boy is only 11 years old and has limited resources, he is taking action. He isn't sitting in his room worrying about his family's situation, he's doing something about it. Those of us with more life experience and greater resources would do well to follow his example.

COULD SMALL BUSINESSES COPE WITH MANDATORY HEALTH INSURANCE?
What would they have to do if health care reforms pass?
Provide employee health insurance, or pay a penalty? Small business owners worry about having to face that choice. That possibility moved a step closer to reality in mid-July, as three of five Congressional committees approved new legislation to remake American health care – legislation that could expand health insurance coverage to…

In the movie
"Revolutionary Road" Kate Winslet's character, April Wheeler, tells her husband in frustration "It takes backbone to lead the life you want." That phrase rings true for me and many of the clients I work with.
Do you desire to get out of debt, stop working at a job that simply drains you for the majority of your life, just so you can retire one day?
If that's the life you want to…

Hi Gang,
I've not posted anything on here in a while due to lots of thoughts and concerns and not many words. Reason being; as my 11 year tenure at my "job" ends, I guess reality gradually sets in.
I am ok with needing to find another traditional job, but, the thing is; I am not so sure if I should go back into another manufacturing setting. Since I have been associated with all the super great folks on here, I am seriously re-thinking what I should do as far as career and…

After Dan's News Letter dropped into my mail box and into my mind, I have become very challenged to "Get It Out The Door". I am discovering ways to speed things up. Some are working and some go directly into my trash bin. These are a couple that are working for me.
This is my New Scripture I am leaning on for encouragement. Hebrews 6: 9-14

I now have these posted all over my house. It is a combination of two phrases…

It is important that we teach our children that true success does not mean the absence of mistakes.
Mistakes are inevitable, they are a part of our lives, our humanity.
Great leaders were and are not perfect people, we all have flaws and make mistakes. Whether its King David from the bible or how about when Thomas Watson chairman of IBM said in 1943"I think there is a world market for maybe five…

Hi Everyone! I’d like to start by sharing my wholehearted advice to look at everything from more than one point of view. That’s something I encourage everyone to do no matter what the subject matter is related to! Having stated, I truly believe everyone is entitled to their 2 cents opinion! Please read on with an open mind to someone who is certainly entitled to their opinion. And then onto a rebuttal that is based on facts and not opinion.

I am a very sensitive person. I tend to take things to heart and am easily affected by my surroundings and environment. I am also a realist that knows going through life with a box of tissues is no way to get things accomplished.
This world is not designed for the weak. Being sensitive is not weak......but being a slave to sensitivity is. When we live lives based on protecting our feelings, we are missing out on many lessons. Some of these lessons can provide the fuel to make…

This CD from Dan & Joanne came as a free gift when I bought the CD series 48 Days to a Six Figure Income. Any one who is a Dan Miller fan should get this and listen to it. I loved hearing their story in depth. It is incredibly inspiring to hear about overcoming such adversity to make such a difference in the world. My challenges seem quite small by comparison! It is giving me strength to perservere.
One of the points they made is that the Millers don't distinguish ministry from…

This powerful devotional written by Jack Van Impe is simply titled
THE DAY. It will really make you think about the importance of what you do and say everyday. Appreciate and be thankful for every day you have been blessed to live and enjoy it!
“Today comes only once in a lifetime. What a tragedy to waste 24 hours of life complaining about the weather or looking for the faults in people. This precious segment of time is given to use and enjoy. It will never return. Once spent…

Why Me?
This has got to be one of the most powerful questions there is. Unfortunately phrased this way can often lead to
"Poor Me" or
"I'm so deprived Me" This thought occurred to me when I was watching parents at a Kids soccer game. It wasn't any kid's soccer game it was one for kids with disabilities. I was sitting there looking at all... To get the rest of the story join me at…

In ordinary life we realize that we receive
a great deal more than we give,
and that it is only with gratitude
that life becomes rich.

What would you be willing to give in exchange for lifelong job satisfaction? It's difficult to put a price on something that matters so much, but until recently there was almost nowhere to find powerful, personalized career guidance. Now, thanks to a rapidly growing new field of study, career coaches are helping people change their lives by changing the way they think about work.
A career coach is, in many ways, similar to a high school sports coach. Her job is to teach you skills…
