Coming Back to 48Days.Net

Posted on October 22, 2012 at 5:40pm 2 Comments

Hello all in this network.  I feel as though I should provide some explanation as to where I've been since I last posted on this site. I got married in 2010, worked hard to pay off a debt and a loan, and haven't had much time to devote to our community. I now am working as a consultant with Pink Papaya.  I have shelved my dream of being a Life Coach in favor of this for a time.

This dream is still very much what I would like to get to, when time permits and when my first book gets…

Peaks and Valleys, Managing High Times and Low Times

Posted on May 20, 2009 at 9:00pm 2 Comments

After reading “Peaks and Valleys” by Spencer Johnson, M.D., I was struck by the truisms and wisdom of this story. The story centers on the life of a young man who lives in the Valley and always wants to get to a Peak. When he hikes up to a Peak for the first time, he finds an old man who teaches him the truth of how to approach your good times and your bad times.

When we have a dream, we are inclined to move toward it. When we encounter opposition, we can be easily swayed in another direction. This is what John C. Maxwell calls “surviving the surprise” in his book “Put Your Dream to the Test.”

In any dream, we are going to have a moment when things don’t look too promising. That is where faith comes in. Our faith must be strong to “survive the surprise” moments that could tear us from the dream. How do we have faith? It is strong belief and… Continue

Jill,
I have finished my first book; The Story of The Lexington Band of Gold-"The Legacy of David A. Wells". It is roughly 130 pages, 39,000 words in 12-font text style, and created in MS Word. I need someone to edit the book for me. I am trying to reduce my costs by self-publishing the book myself. I am attempting to limit my overall expenses.

Please email me at jimcarver55@hotmail.com with your cost, information, and the expected time frame to edit the book. I appreciate your interest and response. Please respond by email only. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Jim Carver
