I just joined this community and don't have any idea about how to create a website or blog. I am wondering if someone could help me get my profile picture in here correctly??!! Anyway, as stated in…Continue
"If you're serious about indie publishing, the first and best advice I can give you is to go to kboards.com and check out the Writer's Cafe. A lot of really successful indie authors hang out there and share their advice.
"Thank you. I will look into it. I was excited when I thought one of the sites you listed was "Koronerkonnection!" Anyway, thank you for the list. I likely will start with friends and family on Facebook, then will need to branch out…"
"Thanks, Mary. I will check that out. I am still deciding what is my genre. There is a homicide towards the end, but not a real murder-mystery. I guess I don't have to narrow it down right away. Probably broad is better until I hone…"
"Thanks for the birthday wishes. Yeah, I am going down the fiction path. I have written quite a bit more than I did with the non-fiction. Now I want to work on the promotion and marketing side of things. Will see how this goes."
Another good podcast that features a lot of fiction authors is Interviewing Authors by Tim Knox. They often talk about how they build community and get people excited about the book before it releases. (However, I just tried clicking the…"
"I highly recommend finding other authors in your genre to network with. I write fiction exclusively and am a member of a few different groups with other authors who write books similar to mine. Other writers in your genre can tell you what has…"
Fiction can be a little tough but Facebook is a good place to start.
Depending on what you're writing (or have written?) you could look at a site called Novel Publicity. They have picked up an article of mine as a guest post so I…"
I know this has been asked before, but is marketing a fiction book similar to a non-fiction book? Is it important to maybe find Facebook groups or authors in your genre and make a way into that space? How do you blog and create hype in fiction before you have written a book? Thanks in advance for your help.See More

How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
48 Days to Work You Love book
What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
Employee. I also do private work as a forensic pathologist.
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
I am currently working on a book to help parents prevent drug addiction in their kids. I am deeply saddened by the young people that die because of addiction. It is such a loss of much potential. I have a blog/website at www.zeldaokia.com, where I write about these and other topics.
I would like to speak and continue to write about topics such as drug addiction and other causes of death with social/societal impact.
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
I love to travel. I have friends and family throughout the United States, Europe, and Africa that I would like to visit more frequently.
What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
I write and speak well. I enjoy learning and sharing what I have learned.
I would like to offer workshops and interact with others that are passionate about eradicating drug/chemical addictions and helping people find other healthier ways to enjoy this life we have been given.
I try to take time each week to welcome new members to 48Days.Net. So, let me say "welcome" to you! I know you will find this to be a great site filled with people who are experiencing true success in both life and work.
Also, I'd like to point out that one of the best places to connect with other liked-minded people here is in the GROUPS section. There are groups for just about every interest you can think of, and if you can't find a group that interests you, you can start one. Groups are my favorite part of 48Days.Net!
Finally, if you happen to be a speaker or author (or want to become either), check out these two groups. They are two of the most popular groups on the site because of all the great conversation taking place:
WELCOME to 48Days.Net. I am sure you will enjoy your experience on this site and find this to be a great place to be.
I'd like to encourage you to check out the GROUPS section where you can find just about any thing that interests you. I am sure you will find the 48Days.Net community a valuable and inspiring resource, just as I have.
Lastly, if you have an interest in Personal and Leadership Development, Coaching, Inner Healing, or just becoming all you were created to be, I invite you to check out our website at BrianHolmes.com. If there is anything I can do to serve you, please don't hesitate to let me know.
