"It depends on your industry. I do business startups and regulatory compliance in healthcare. We charge $100 to $120 an hour. That said do you have a blog? One way to fill your funnel with clients is to keep an active list of blog articles to answer…"

"Thanks guys... Since I don't really know how long answering could take, I'm thinking an 'initial consultation fee' of 24.95 would cover most situations. Followups might be included, depending on how detailed those are.…"

Need ideas about consulting fees

Hope this topic hasn't been debated before, but I couldn't locate it if it was.Backgouund is that I was a Techncal Specialist for a well known woodworking tool company for over 23 years. As a result I have access to many documents- Instruction Manuals & Parts Lists. After the brand has changed owner's a coule of times in the past 9 years, a new owner is trying to revive them.Because of my resources, I have become their 'send to' source for old Instruction Manuals and out of date Parts…See More

Profile Information

What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
My current work situation is that I am unemployed - laid off for the second time in a year and a half.
I worked in Technical Service of power tools and woodworking machinery since 1981 and progressed thru the ranks to be the manager of the department that I helped start.
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
I don't believe I have ever been much of a 'dreamer' in my work life. Pretty much just made sure that I did an excellent job for my employer and my Lord. My vocation was over 27 years old and if you had asked me, I was doing what God designed me to do, doing it better than 95% of the people could and loving it.
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
My personal life is wonderful - with the exception of the strain that is being put upon it by being out of work. I got married (after 21 years of being single again) in 2003 to the best blessing the God has ever showered on me and she is a real trooper. She has a great job, although it isn't paying enough to support us. It's more important that she loves it.

The goal and dream is to return to being a financial contributor to our household - other than unemployment.
What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
I have always been mechanically and electrically inclined, then I added a business degree to that and have a solid foundation. I relish being the 'answer man'- the guy people go to for the CORRECT answer.

More than one website?

If you have a product or service to promote (now or in the near future) this is your shot to state it! Say all you'd like:
Right now I am open to restoring antique strollers - I have a website and 2 possible customers. My long-term "big idea" is to write school lessons for homeschoolers, job re-training programs (and all the like avenues) about how to properly use tools and make machines work correctly. I call it "Toolsmartz"(tm)
