It was a cold dark night as I rolled up to the light, years before I saw the real Light;
He knew where I was though I didn't seem to care.
A black car like mine pulled up beside,
An old familiar sight; I was sitting in my heart's delight.
The familiar sound of American thunder, our cars began to rumble.
I got the jump as the light turned green;
two miles up the road, boulders, big oak trees; the unforeseen.
The tachometer climbing fast, houses and cars in a glimpse; what a blast.
Up ahead a car pulls out, I swerve to miss a broadside hit;
nearing 80, it didn't click.
The race is over, I knew I won.
Over 90 I'm still alive, until I see a sign that reads - Right 25.
I couldn't go left, going too fast to make that right; I had to go straight and seal my fate.
I missed the big oak tree but that two ton boulder was waiting for me.
I hit that rock head on, I was tossed and turned, my whole life literally upside down.
Engine still running, what do I do? Trapped, dazed, and confused.
The other car long gone, I should've been dead.
Little did I know, a Voice said "not yet, You crawl outta there, I'll make a way."
Later a car came by, I told my story, they looked amazed.
A few years later I found an altar
I cried, I praised, it was then I knew I was saved by the Ancient of Days.
