Your place for community & resources to find or create work you love

We are so glad you're here and ready to take the next step! We created 48days.net as a place for community. For people to encourage each other and help each other in finding or creating work that is meaningful.

But frankly, we've outgrown it, so we're moving to provide you new resources.

48Days.net will be closing as it is today on November 30, 2017. Until then current members can click the button below to access groups and resources.

If you're new to 48days.net, connect here for a close up look at our thriving 48 Days Eagles Community and to get weekly free resources and motivation as you find and create work you love.

Profile Information

How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
I found 48 days through an internet search I did years ago. I receive the weekly newsletters and becoming increasingly motivated to follow my passion's and use the gifts God gave me. I hope to generate support and encouragement and learn about how to take my life in the direction I want for it to go.
What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
I am currently working as an outpatient therapist, which I love. This was not the case when I signed up here, but it has been a wonderful change. I still dream of incorporating my artist work to be a bigger part of my life.
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
I have built a ministry in my church, using art as an outreach and community builder. My dream is to take this ministry to churches everywhere, and use my artistic gifts to reach others and make a difference in communities.
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
I am very happily married to my high school sweetheart who is tremendously supportive of my dreams and at times has pushed me to continue creating and making my work public.
What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
I am an introvert, but a good listener, and good at recognizing patterns in others.
Do you have a website presence anywhere?
Are you interested in finding a better job, starting a business, growing your current business, writing a book, blogging, podcasting, coaching, speaking, sales & marketing, or something else?

Wreck-it-Ralph: What are you made for?

Posted on November 5, 2012 at 12:20pm 0 Comments

I watched the new Disney movie, Wreck-it-Ralph last night. A kids movie that focuses on finding work you love and discovering what you're made for! Some interesting perspectives come from the different video game characters as they try to discover their "meaning in life." Such as Venellope von Schweetz who can feel it in her "code" that she was meant for more! I don't want to give any spoilers, so won't share any details, but if you plan on watching the movie, maybe you'll want to stop…

What's more important? Security, or career?

Posted on November 1, 2012 at 7:39pm 2 Comments

Say you have two options on the table:
1. A job that is in your career path, but is odd hours, variable income has no benefits, and no vacation pay.
2. A job that just misses the mark on your career path, salaried, has benefits, and about 5 weeks paid time off.

How important is security, vs following your career? I'd like to hear from both sides (if they're out there).

If you can do (this), Why are you Here?

I had the blessing today of a drawing of mine being presented as a gift to a retiring administrator where I work. I was so happy for her to have it, and it was also great publicity for my artwork as many approached me afterwards. (Many were board members, dressed way better than I was).

I had people who know me as a "social worker" come up to me and say "If you can do this, why are you here?" It was encouraging and yet frustrating at the same time because I have…

Challenge Yourself

"Challenge Yourself" This is what I saw in bold letters when I opened my mail box, and this is following a chain of events causing those bold letters to almost break me.

I have been very stressed at work lately, no overwhelmed...no trapped, stuck. I feel as though I live in a fog, like I'm sleeping all day, or perhaps "blind" until 5:00 comes and I am set free to pursue my passion.

I went for a run after work today and it was so freeing. I love the country roads I live on and…

Hi there Rachael,

Thanks for getting back to me. What have been some of your favorite finds on the site?

There is a lot of helpful information here.

The next issue of our newsletter is coming out in a few days. 4 Points Coaching is a bi-monthly. May we start sending it your way?

If you are on Facebook, you are invited to take a peek at Project 365. The book project has picked up quite a bit of speed. It will be released November, 2010.
See you there.

Just noticed you joined 48Days.net -- WELCOME! It's a great site with tons of great people.

If you happen to be a speaker or author (or want to become either), check out the following groups. They are two of the most popular groups on the site because of all the great conversation taking place.

* Speak It Forward -- REAL Success and Profit for Speakers!
* Write It Forward -- REAL Success and Profit for Writers!

One other thing…I want to offer you a gift. You can download my FREE e-resource entitled Goal-Setting That Actually Works! by joining the REAL Success E-Zine community at www.liveitforward.com. It's a growing and dynamic community of people striving to live WAY BEYOND their average in the most important roles of their lives. I think you'll get a ton out of both the Goal-Setting product and the REAL Success E-Zine. And again, both are absolutely free.

Looking forward to connecting with you!

Live it forward,
Kent Julian

Rachael -- Welcome to 48Days.net. And thanks for already being a reader of my weekly newsletters.

I developed the concept of 48 Days to help people have a reasonable timeline for making real change in their lives. And yes, I’m convinced 48 Days is a long enough time period to evaluate where you are, get the advice of people you trust, decide what your best options are, create a plan, and ACT.

We have lots of artists, writers, and creative people involved here. Just check out some of the active groups to learn and share in those areas.

Thanks for being part of the 48 Days family. We’re glad you joined us! Dan Miller – 48 Days

Hi Rachael -- Welcome to the 48 Days community. We're glad you joined.

This is the idea and social networking site for people that want to create their own opportunity.

Depending on what your interests are, there is a wide selection of discussion groups to get involved with.

One group that is worth looking into is 180 Service Station.
Good stuff going on in there.

Another group you'll want to stop by is the 4 points coaching compass.
One of my friends is leading the discussion and we would love to get your insights.
