My husband has been gone to China on business for 2 ½ weeks. I was looking so forward to having him home tomorrow when I saw the email. “New plan, I have to stay another week…” My heart sunk and the pity party started to take up residence. I was angry at the situation that was causing him to be delayed and I just wanted someone to blame or at least commiserate with me.
Lord, are you trying to teach me something here? I get it. I appreciate all he does for me and with our…

Choosing to be content where I am makes the difference between always being preoccupied with what I should be doing and enjoying an uncomplicated, fulfilling life with my family. I can stay on the treadmill of continuously striving or look around and notice how blessed I am. Pausing to recognize all that is right in my world can transform my day and, if practiced regularly, my whole life.
I have all I need and will accomplish everything God appointed for me to do in good…

Does the tag in your daughter’s shirt determine how you spend your time? Let me explain what I mean. Do you worry about your kids doing what all the others are doing when it comes to awards, grades, achievements, sports, the latest styles and name brand clothes? Maybe there’s some other social trophy you push your child to achieve that will give you bragging rights. Our world provides many options to choose from, but most will not matter 10 years from now.Hopefully we’ve figured out that…

Farnoosh Brock said… Hi dear Nicole, I just got your friend invite but I didn't see the note you sent me in full - I read that you were in the Recovering Engineers group and read my story and I can't for the life of me find the rest of the message (some engineer I am, can you see? ;)) - please send it over or tell me again the rest of your message and nice to see you here.
Michael Galvan said… Hi Nicole, thanks for the comment and learning about real estate investing is exactly the place to start....learning. I recommend that besides groups like mine you also pick up some good books like Robert Allen's "Creating Wealth" or Ken McElroy's "ABC's of Real Estate Investing". I am also a fan of Robert Kiyosaki's books and there are several including "Increasing your Financial IQ" or "Rich Dad Poor Dad". If I can be of any personal assistance along the way let me know. Take a minute and visit my website catalystcoachnation.com or gallydevelopment.com there are some few tidbits there that you might find helpful. Be a continuous learner and develop some good relationships with local investors in your area. Finally, don't let being a landlord deter you from investing because you can always build in property management costs and have them handle landlord responsibilities. Until next time enjoy the process
